Chapter 11: How could I...

Clefairy looked at Pikachu and gave me a look that meant 'do I have to battle that weekling'.
This'll be easy. I was going to command Clefairy to attack when I remembered the no poke-ordering rule.
Clefairy charged up to Pikachu and began slapping it. It continueds lapping until Pikachu fell backward. Whe it gets up I notice that it is alomst un-hurt. Something is very different about this Pikachu then the other pokemon I'd seen and battled.
My Clefairy began to sing. Instead of Pikachu falling asleep, it folded it's large ears down next to it's head. It couldn't hear Clefairy!
Suddenly, Clefairy realizes it's attack isn't working. It jumps up high into the air and lands on Pikachu hard. I was happy to notice that Pikachulooked slightly injured.
Pikachu puched itself off the ground with one hand, which sent Clefaify(who was still on top of Pikachu) flying.
The yellow mouse looked at his enormous trainer."Pika, pika?" asked Pikachu.
Surge nodded. Pikachu turned to face Clefairy and.... it ran! Really fast!I wonder if poketron can identify attacks? I held it up to Pikachu, which was hard to do, given it's current speed. I pressed a button I hadn't seen before marked 'tech' which I hope stands for technike.
"Agility, a speed attack..." I shut it.
By this time, Pikachu was running quickly around Clefairy.
"A trick I picked up from my last battle," called Surge from across the gym.
Clefairy was trying to keep an eye on Pikachu. This kept it spinning aroung. My poor pink pokemon was becomming very dizzy!
I couldn't stand it. I had to talk."STOP spinning!" I yelled.
"Ahh, you broke a rule. Now this is a regular match ehh... FINE!" bellowed
Surge definately. Now this would be a real match!
"Pikachu use the combo be practiced!" called Surge.
How was I to tell Clefairy to dodge! What 'combo'!
Pikachu stopped abrutly behind Clefairy who was standing in the same place I had told it to stop in.
Before I could say anything, Pikachu had jumped into the air! It was nowover Clefairy! It's red cheeks sparked."CHUUUUUUU" it said. A blast of electricity hit Clefairy. My small cute p[okemon was pushed by the force of the attack back to my feet.
I silently pulled a pokeball to call back Clefairy, who was lying, infront of me."I'm gonna hate to do this.....Seel!"
My only water type. I knew this would be Surges easist ever battle. My reasoning was Seel would have to go out sooner or later, it would looser, but it was 6 on 6(actuallly unfortunately for me 6 on 5!).... I had no choice!
"Seel?" it said, confused I had chosen it to battle an electric type.
To my suprise, Surge said nothing mocking about my pokemon choice."Arora beam!"
"Thunderbolt!"
The two pokemons' attacks met. It was Seel who got hit with the final explosion though. When the dust settled, not to my suprise, was my defeated Seel.
"Return!"I pulled a random pokeball,"Go!"
I saw Kukuna in front of me. I had an idea!"
"Kukuna, harden, then use your Smash attack!"
If Kukuna is harder when it attacks, it should be able to do more damage!
"Smash?" Surge asked.
Before another thing was said, Pikachu was hit by a speeding Kukuna. Kukuna continued to push Pikachu until it smashed into the wall. This finished off the small electric pokemon."Electrabuzz!"
This pokemon was not new to me. It came with the circus to my town yearly! I'd always go there when I was a kid!"Kukuna! Same thing!" I yelled.
Kukuna used it new 'combo' attack again. Electrabuzz had the same thing happen to it as Pikachu.
The tall electric pokemon lay motionless on the ground.That was to easy!It couldn't be over yet!
Kukuna thought so. It was hopping back to the starting box. I didn'tnotice till to late. Electrabuzz was up."Ha! Thunder punch now!" called Surge.
My Kukuna was out. Who did I have left!?!? I wonder as I call back Kukuna."Charmander!" I screem.
When Charmander came out of it's pokeball, it didn't speek, it knew.
"It's up to you now..." I wisper."Electrabuzz, Thunderpunch!"yelled Surge.Charmander easily dodged the attack.
of it useing a regular attack, Charmander(without orders) walked up
Electrabuzz and stomped it's fooy as hard as it could. Electrabuzz looked. It began hopping aroung on it's un-damaged foot.
Charmander again aproched Electrabuzz. This time it used Skullbash. This time Electrabuzz was finished.
"This'll finish you! You stupid red dino!" called Surge.
"Elec-trrrrode!" said the poke-ball like pokemon.
I knew this pokemon as well. It was famous for....
"Charmander look out!!!" I screem.
Again I was to late. In a blaze of light, Electrode exploded. Charmander was hurtled against the wall of the gym. It fell from a high point on the wall and landed in a funny position.
When I could see again, I noticed Charmander was still in action!
"Go Riachu!" called Surge.
The large rat stepped up to the starting box. Charmander did not go to it'sbox.
" Go to the box!" I yell angrily.
It shook it's head. It must not be able to battle any more..... I call it back. I lost the battle...."So where is your sixth?" said Surge.
"In the pokemon center," I answer sadly."Out of my gym! I win!" he yelled.
If I didn't know he was a gym leader, I could have mistaken him for a two year old.
How embarassing. I made my way out of the confusing gym and made the long walk back to the pokemon center to check on Kadabra. It was very late when I finally got back. Tonight, I didn't let any pokemon out. I would have them all checked by the nurse in the morning.

Chapter 11: Kadabra's back!

I woke up the next morning. My defeat was not yet even half out of my mind. Though Iam awake, I stay in bed. I remember every bit of the battle. What did I do wrong.
My pokemon! I didn't heal them last night! I need to do it now! I run to the desk only to see an enormous line. I decided to try the next best thing. The baby Chansey.
I walk brisklely outside. I go to the back of the center, the place I had battled the weird Primeape guy. There was still a big mark in the tree where Kukuna had 'Smashed' Hypno.
First I called out the Chansey. It looked unsure weather it could do the job I had set before it.
One at a time, I sent out my pokemon for the Chansey inspection. I did them in the order of when I used them in battle. First Gloom.
Chansey okayed Gloom after a thorow check, by nodding. Clefairy also recieved a nod. When Seel came out, Chansey shook it's head and pointed at the pokemon center. I called back Seel and separated it's pokeball from the
others. Next was Kukuna. My starting pokemon was okayed. Last was Charmander. After Chansey had checked over the fire pokemon, it looked at it gravely. It quickly gained my attention by yelling..."CHANSEY,CHANSEY!" in my ear.
When it touched Charmanders leg, my poor Charmander would squeel in pain. Chansey pointed urgentally at the pokemon center.
"Not another bad injury," I groaned, more worried about Charmander then anything else. I pushed through the line to the nurse.
"Oh, it's you" said Joy.
"Yeah, my Charmander needs help and my Seel needs a check up. Also, I was wondering if I could see Kadabra."
"Okay, I'll check your other two pokemon and then I'll take you in to see Kadabra," she said.
I handed her the pokeballs. She went into the back of the hospital.In less then 10 minutes she was back."Are they okay?" I ask deprately.
"Your Seel will be fine. It just needs a little rest," answered the nurse.
"What about Charmander!?!?!?" I yell unnessesarily loud.
"Yes, Charmander. It is a much more serious problem. Charmander's leg is broken. It's not a serious break, so it won't take long to heal. It'll have to wear a cast though. I've called the Lavender town Joy. When you arrive there, Charmander should be healed enough to have the cast removed."sheanswered.
So now Charmander was out of it!"I'll take you in to see Kadabra now."
"Great!" I answer. I see Kadabra in a room by itself. It looks 100% better!
"Your Kadabra has heeled quickly. Maybe it's because it's a Psicic type, or maybe it's just special....but the point is....it won't take four more days to heal...." she traled off."You mean I can take it!" I yell happily.
She smiled and nodded"Kadabra your back!" I call."Kad-abra!" it smiles.
I realize how powerful Kadabra looks. The last time I saw it, it was in horrible shape. Even in that condition it had used incredible Psicic strenth to get out of that river. Now I would see it's true power!
"Take care of it!" said Joy.
I start to walk away. I turn around. As if she had read mymind, she said..
"You can pick up Seel and Charmander in the morning. No battling Charmander until you get to Lavender! Also please do not put Charmander in it's pokeball until the cast is removed!" said Joy as if she were my mother.
I go out into the town and walk to the harbor. The ocean was beautiful. Though I would have loved to stay near the Ocean for longer, I neededsupplies.
After I have picked up everything, I knew it was time to head back to the pokemon center for the night. I head to sleep. I knew in the morning, I would go to that gym and with Kadabra I would win for sure.
