Japanese Title: Dragon Ball Z Suupaa Goku Den
In English that Means: Dragon Ball Z Super History of Goku
Game Genre: Role Playing Game
Released in: Japan
Japanese Release Date: March, 1995
Publisher: Bandai
Description: As with the first SFC RPG, this game is a combination of two Famicom games' story lines, Shenron no Nazo and Daimao Fukatsu. It begins with Goku's rather odd meeting with Bulma. After that the game follows the story line of Dragon Ball from Pilaf's plan to rule the world and Goku's battle with the Red Ribbon army to his rivalry with Piccolo Daimao. Also, as with Super Saiya Densetsu this game features enhanced graphics and sound. However, unlike Super Saiya Densetsu, this game only borrows the storyline of two Famicom games and is not a port of them.
Who's In It?: Goku, Bulma, Oolong, Krirrin, Kame-sennin, Yamucha, Puaru, Pilaf, Red Ribbon Army, and Piccolo Daimao.

Japanese Title: Dragon Ball Z Hyper Dimension
In English that Means: Dragon Ball Z Hyper Dimension
Game Genre: Fighting
Released in: Japan, France
Japanese Release Date: March 29, 1996
Publisher: Bandai
Description: This is by far the best DBZ game for SFC, and arguably the best DBZ game for any system. Its graphics rival those of UB22 and Final Bout, yet the cart is only 32 megabits (or 4 megabytes). Quite amazing when you consider that PSX CDs have the capacity to hold 750 megabytes of data. It is quite possibly the best looking SNES game ever made. Check out the screenshots for yourself. Not only does it feature some awesome graphics, but it has the game play to back it up. The game features computer controlled fight sequences where you and your opponent battle it out at ultra high speeds, just like in the series :D . This game takes the characters from the Majin Buu saga and throws in two of the badest villains from previous sagas, Furiza and Cell. Although the 10 character count is a disappointment for some, it's better than the other SFC fighters which featured about 8 fighters each. In addition, this game features some fighters not seen in other SFC fighters such as Gotenks, Vegetto, and Kid Buu. Finally, the game features three great modes of play, verses, Tenkaichi Budoukai, and the return of the Story mode. Hyper Dimension is extremely rare, and can easily run you $200 on e-bay. Since its so damn expensive, good thing the ROM has finally been dumped in its entirety and is now available for download [Mac (Stuffit 5.5) PC (Zip)]. Apparently, someone has finally devised a cartridge copier that is capable of dumping Hyper Dimension. Rejoice! Your DBZ ROM collection is now complete ^_^
Who's In It?: Goku, Majin Vegeta, Gotenks, Vegetto, Piccolo, Majin Buu, Kid Buu, Furiza, Cell, and Gohan.

Title: Dragonball Z Final Bout
Game Genre: Fighting
Released in: Mexico
Release Date: Unknown (assumed to be after August 1997)
Publisher: Unknown
Before you get your hopes up, you won't find this game anywhere. It is a Mexican produced fake. Very few were made, and trust me, you wouldn't want to play it anyway.
Description: Besides being an obvious fake... what can I say, the game totally sucks. The graphics for this game were pulled from Super Butoden 1, 2 and 3; UB22; and Final Bout as well. The music, well its switches between Mega Man, and Street Fighter tunes. As for the announcer's voice, well it came straight out of Street Fighter. Listen for yourself.
Whoever made this game obviously didn't know what they were doing. When fighting, the characters can walk and jump right through each other, the controls are incomplete on some characters, and ki blasts don't match the character animation. In addition, the animation is extremely choppy. You can even see it in the ki blast video linked above, and yes, its actually that choppy. 0_o
Another obvious "I'm a fake" flag are the character voices. They're all the same! The voices are simply generic fighting grunts pulled from Street Fighter . Gee... with all the stuff the guy pulled from Street Fighter, you'd think he would have gone ahead and ripped the fighting engine as well.
Who's In It?: Goku, Majin Vegita, Gotenks, Vegetto, Piccolo, Majin Buu, Kid Buu, Furiza, Cell, and Gohan.
Our Rating:
.5 of 7 - What a horrid, poorly made fake.
