MAKING AN ELVEN WATCHTOWER
You will need:
A pringles tube
Some thick card
A packet of green stuff
Some plastic Mordheim doors and windows
Some expanded polystyrene
A hot wire cutter
A sculpting tool
Some matches
Sand and stones
A cocktail stick
A bead
Paint
PVA glue
Ok, here goes.
STEP I
Make a cone out of the thick card, and stick it to the top of the pringles tube. This will form the basis of the tower.
STEP II
Stick a couple of windows from the Mordheim scenery plastics onto the tower. Go for the tall thin ones.
STEP III
Cut a piece of thick card the size of the door, and stick strips of card onto it to represent wood. Add a door handle from card. Then stick the plastic doorway on top. Stick this to the tower.
STEP IV
Model green stuff around all the doors and windows. Sculpt it so it looks like rock, and the windows are jutting out of the cliff face.
STEP V
Stick a cocktail stick into the top of the cone roof, and then put a bead around this.
STEP VI
Make a stepped hill out of the expanded polystyrene. Make it steep and craggy. Then with some matches melt the cliff faces so it gives it a craggy, rocky, effect. Add some rocks and snad to the cliff.
STEP VII
Glue the tower on top of the cliff.
STEP VIII
Paint it. Paint the top of the cliff green and then flock it. Paint the cliff faces in dark grey then drybrush in lighter grey. Paint the tower in white and drybrush in bleached bone and other rocky colours. Paint the green stuff in the same way as the cliff. PAint the windows and the door way in midnight blue the highlight with enchanted blue. Paint the doorway bestial brown and the door handle dwarf bronze.
You now have an Elven Watchtower ready for the battlefield! Soon I will provide you with some pictures of this. |
