Kadon Blackheart's Slaaneshi Warband
The purpose of this project is to provide a converted Chaos Warband to a budget. Now I will give you a run down of how to make all the units.
Chaos Warriors
This regiment requires the least conversions.Use the Chaos regiment set, and arm each unit with either hand weapons and shields or halberd. Swap the occaisional models head for a head off the "hairy heads" sprue from Mordhiem. Add a skaven tail to the bald head to look like some kind of tentacle hair. I have heard rumors of a Chaos Mutation sprue which will include plastic mutations for your chaos warriors, plastic chaos knights, and chaos space marines. If these ever come out, use them on the warrior units only. Paint the warriors in chainmail drybrushed onto a black undercoat and paint horns in bleached bone and plumes and crests in blue.
Elite Guard
For Kadon Blackheart's Elite bodyguard, use chaos warriors with both halberds and shields. Then model them some cloaks out of green stuff. Never use bare heads, always use helmets, and for the same reason never use mutations and make them look smart, while the warrior units can look more insane and mutated. Paint them in black and chainmail armour, with plumes and crests in blue and horns in bleached bone.
Chaos Marauders
Until the Chaos Maruader plastics come out, use the Bearmen of Urslo, that regiment of Renown. You might want to make them look a bit more chaotic by using a bit of green stuff though. The good thing about these is you can get twenty of them from mail order for £15, so what excuses do you have? Paint them in bronzed flesh, chaos black, bestial brown and blood red.
Kadon Blackheart
Right, he can be easily made out of the warrior plastics. First of all, take the bulkiest body and legs that you can. Give him an arm with a shield, holding it down, not raising it. For his right arm, take the sword bearing arm and cut off the sword and replace it with a halberd, and have him pointing it forward at the foe. You need the sword arm for this as none of the halberd arms are in this position. This gives the effect that he is carrying such a heavy weapon with ease. Make him a cloak out of green stuff like you have done for the Elite Guard. Use the bare head, and you might want ot give him a pony tail out of green stuff. Then, to make him look really hideous, make a few cuts into the side of his head with a modelling knife, and model a few veins with green stuff, to show horrible scars and old war wounds. Paint him like you did for the Elite Guard, spending a little more time than normal. Paint his head in elf flesh and drybrush it in skull white. If you want you could drybrush his head wound lightly with tentacle pink of leprous green, to make it look really nasty.

And there you have it, a simple but powerful Chaos Warrior army built on a budget. Chaos Knights could be a problem, but if plastics come out then its easy, just do a few head swaps and mutations.
