TACTICS
In battle, the Cothique Border Patrol fares well when it plays offensively. The first wave shall come from the Silver Helm knights, led by the Elf Prince. This should be able to break weaker units and considerably shake stronger ones. The second wave comes from the chariots, who charge any flankers attempting the charge the silver helms. Then the third wave comes from the spearmen, who engage any stragglers and fill in the gaps, supporting the cavalry and chariots. The eagles and reavers charge the enemy in the flank and the rear once combat is joined, causing panic tests and aiding the silver helms and chariots until the spearmen arrive. And if the spearmen never arrive then the cavalry is doomed. The mage uses the lore of fire, and hopefully weakens the enemy ranks with his fiery spells as he closes with the enemy deep within the ranks of the spearmen. The archers perform in a unique way. All three units concentrate their fire on one enemy unit at a time, which should prove to be effective, destroying annoying flanking units and mopping up skirmishers. In defense, the army still performs well. The spearmen set up around a hill which all the archers are on. When the enemy charges the spearmen, the silver helms and chariots dart out of a nearby wood or from behind the spearmen and engulf the enemy, causing panic and confusion. If the enemy has another wave coming, the cavalry tries not to pursue so it can do the same on the next wave. In defense, the eagles and reavers hunt down any fast cavalry and skirmishers which could ruin my plan by charging the cavalry and chariots. |
