In life there will always be challenges, obstacles and problems that come your way. You will be pushed to your mental, emotional, physical and instinctual limits many times throughout your life. This is a natural part of being human, being alive in our world. It has always been that way. In the 1920s, 30s, 40s & 50s people had problems. If you read newspaper articles from any year you will usually find something written on how bad things are.
Well, last month I went through two challenges that proved to me that you can really only do four things when faced with the problem. Challenges are like swimming in the ocean with or without a life jacket or surfboard. You can Ignore the Wave (but the wave still hits) , Fight the Wave (but you will get exhausted fast) , Ride the Wave (a good start) or Be the Wave (accept what is happening and do something about it).
In fact you actually go through all four stages. It all depends on how long you stay at each stage that determines if you get swallowed up by the wave and get taken from the ocean. The time at each stage depends on our past experiences and how we handled the problems of the past. The best way to be the wave is to understand that there are different stages of challenges. Once you understand this it makes your life easier. Remember, you will always have challenges to confront, and accept, and deal with.
When we were a baby it was a challenge to crawl. Then it was a challenge to stand on our own. Then it was a challenge to walk. Then it was a challenge to run. You made it before, so you can make it through any challenges now! Be the wave, be the challenge, be the winner!
