| Now that summer has officially arrived, our area is experiencing a wealth of entertainment of all types. Already we have enjoyed a live concert at the Port Credit Arena featuring 54-40. Soulmouth live outdoors with the Bud Girls on Gray’s patio. The grand opening of Landmark Bar and Billiards new patio. Port Credit’s Harbourside Playhouse (live theatre) grand opening. Fantastic live music at many local bars and clubs and of course our wonderful Waterfront Trail for bladers, bikers and walkers. We have also seen the opening of many new businesses. This of course is just the beginning. The month of June feature’s many more terrific happenings. In June we will experience Port Credit’s Moonlight Madness, a street sale and entertainment weekend, Friday June 18th to Sunday June 20th. The Poker Run speedboat challenge (the same weekend) at The Credit Village Marina. The Mississauga Waterfront Festival 99’ June 25-27 featuring 3 Deep, Stampeders, Legends in concert, a Dragon Boat challenge, Smoke on the Water (wine tasting, cigars and Latin Band), Kids entertainers Ants in your Pants, Bananas in Pajamas, a carnival, as well as many, many other scheduled events, far too many to list (call the festival office at {905}891-0002 for more details. www.mwf.com). Then in July the Blue Grass Country and Western Fest at the Credit Village Marina on July 17-18, Toronto Star Salmon Derby July 10, The Credit Village Outdoor Art Show also at the Marina July 17-18 and a Mexican Weekend Fiesta at the Marina July31-August 1. Later this Summer we will see a 50’s - 60’s weekend August 14-15, an In-Water Boat Show August 27-29, The Salmon Showdown September 11 and the Port Credit Jazz Festival October 1-3. Get ready for a lively summer, full of a wide variety of entertainment for people of all ages. Keep your eye on The Lake View for more information on upcoming events or give us a call at 272-8796.
