Inside of the building were ten, white-suited men with various weaponry held in hand that connected to some sort of power device or fuel tank on their backs. One leader was overseeing operations, while others were pacing. Some sat idly by against the wall.
Invisiman stealthily made his way through the crowd, and examined each of his foes.
"Looks like they have some sort of power sources stored in those backpacks..." he silently said in his mind.
He tiptoed behind an unsuspecting guard, and carefully and quietly dismembered the tube from the connected tank upon his back. Fuel leaked out upon the ground and the guard quickly turned around.
"Hey! My fuel's leaking!" He cried.
"What happened, Lovo?" Another cried.
"I dunno! I coulda sworn it was just working a minute ago."
"Sounds to me like there's an intruder in the house..." the leader spoke.
He was different in appearance than others. He had a star upon his chest and wore thick goggles as well as a larger suit. He paced about the area, staring at the ground. After finding no trace, he pressed a small button upon his goggles and a green glow emitted from them.
"Ah, footprints..." He said.
He carefully followed the footprints to a located area where the leads had finally stopped. However, there was no one there. The leader looked up and scanned the area. Still, there was nothing. He then adjusted a dial upon his goggles in order to see what he was looking for... heat. Soon the body heat of Invisiman was spotted just a few feet before the leading soldier, as a red aura emitted from the body as viewed from the goggles.
"Right here, men!" He said, waving them forward.
He stuck his gun-like weapon in front of Invisiman who held his hands up.
"Turn back to normal," the leader commanded.
Invisiman, the coward he was, obeyed with shaking arms.
"Trying to sneak in and break your fellow criminals out, eh? Well, you got another thing comin'!"
The commander then motioned Invisiman to turn around, and he shoved his gun against his back to move forward.
We got a special place for you.
But before he could move any further, he suddenly found that what he was carrying seemed to be nothing at all. He looked
downward in perplexity to see that his weapon had shrunk to the size of a miniature toy that was heading for the ground.
What the?! He cried in utter disbelief.
Both Shrinkray and I had entered in the nick of time, and we each hid behind our own set of pillars quietly.
These guys suits are impervious to electricity, so my taser is useless. But I can always use good old conventional methods, I said over the com-link to Shrinkray.
Like those moves you learned back in the countryside*? He replied. (*-The Face#10)
Exactly. I have a plan. You try picking off those guards weapons one by one, and Ill help out with the rest, I told him.
Gotcha, he said.
Shrinkray readied his pistol, took aim, and stealthily shot a blue blast toward a close-ranged soldier, who in turn had the unfortunate event of his weapon shrinking. He continued to do so twice more, until someone had finally found where the rays had come from. It was then time for him to disappear from the human eye.
This was a great opportunity for me. As each of the now unarmed soldiers crowded together in a pack to find that no one was behind the pillar they were searching, I silently strode behind them, and used a secret skill that I had longed to use in such opportunities as this. The Dragons Tail. It was more or less (to my standards) a perfectly executed sweep of the feet which blew across the ankles of each foe nearby, provided that they were standing in an upright position and that their footing was not altered. If done correctly, with enough force, it could knock all opponents down in one blow like a bowling ball striking a flurry of pins. Once executed, three soldiers had collapsed to the ground. One I had missed, for I could not have taken that many. But a one-on-one fight was easy enough to accomplish. With a swipe of an outstretched palm against the side of the neck, he also went down.
Meanwhile, Invisiman, once again taking his invisible state, had the advantage. He too, using stealth, grabbed hold of soldiers necks, weaponry, and wrists to do great damage to them. He had taken out three. After I had finished dispatching of the three I had to defeat, subtracting the one soldier I struck in the neck, there were only three left.
Shrinkray went for locked dungeon, and looked at the control panel. He had no knowledge of deciphering any code locks, so he put his mind to work to think of another solution.
The commander soon dispatched his two remaining soldiers to combat me and Invisiman.
One soldier came toward me in unarmed combat, for his weapon had been sabotaged by the workmanship of Invisiman. I blocked his blow with my left arm and thrust my own fist upward to strike his newly agonized chin. Then I shoved him aside. Clearly these men were not trained in the art of hand-to-hand combat. They expected to fight super-heroes, however their one fault was that they did not expect the unexpected: the normal, creative minds and skills of regular heroes. Caltech Industries should rethink its manufacturing formulas.
Another soldier ran as if in great fury toward Invisiman, who easily avoided contact by going intangible, and moving to the side, excluding his left foot, which sent the unprepared soldier face-down to the ground.
While this happened, Shrinkray had an idea. He shrunk himself to a small enough size to be able to enter the control panel of the super-powered prison. He then ventured into a vast, large haven filled to the brim with technological constructions and electrical wires as far as the eye could see. He began his search for the central processing unit.
The last man standing on the other side was the commander himself, who was surprised we had come this far.
Give it up, Dr. Whitesuit, you havent a chance, Invisiman concluded.
The commander stood in his place, without moving, but only folded his arms. He began to laugh in amusement.
You second-rate heroes always think that everythings so easy. Ha! But you dont know what its really like to face a real opponent; one who is more powerful than you will ever be! He laughed. He then activated a switch upon the control pad upon his chest, which seemed to be pumping into his body some sort of green fluid which came from the inside of the containment system hooked upon his back.
Yep
I knew I shouldve stayed back at the quarters to watch some more I Love Lucy, Invisiman reconsidered.
