Back at Caltech Industries, inside the dome-like prison, Stargirl waits restlessly in anguish, as Archer patiently sits to the side.
Why cant I dent this thing?! Stargirl cried angrily.
Kevin sat still, calmly. This isnt your standard iron-bar prison, these cells were made specifically for super-powered people such as yourself.
Stargirl angrily groaned and thrust her powerful fist into the infallible alloy.
Calm down, and think rationally. If Oblita was able to life this thing, shouldnt you?
Stargirls eyes sparked. Of course
she realized, and thrust herself upward against the roof of the cell. However, it would not budge. She tried multiple times, each more frustrating than the last. She cursed. It wont budge!
Must be vacuum-sealed, or electro-magnetically restrained.
You think a vacuum can hold me?
Calm down. Dont waste your energy, the Face knows where we are. Hell come.
And if he doesnt?
Ill kill him. For leaving me here with you, and not letting me out to crush Longbowman for stealing all my arrows.
Oh, he didn't steal them. You heard the Face, I'm sure he'll return the favor.
Or so you think.
Now youre the one whos annoying me.
Elsewhere, rushing through the night air, was the diabolical diva who had fiendishly outsmarted her arch nemesis. She deeply desired to bask in pleasure at her counterparts folly, and even joyfully crush her into a meaningless pulp, but according to her employer, she had other things to do. She continued to fly through the night, with wind rushing against her freshly scented, short brown hair. At length, it continued to the chin of her face, and blew backward like the wings of a soaring eagle. A transmission interrupted her free-spirited flight.
Quit lolly-gagging, Oblita, you know you have other things to do, the voice ordered.
Oblita frowned in disgust. Oh, pipe down. Cant a girl have a little fun every now and then? This killing weak and defenseless people is getting old. Plus, I dont want to get too much blood on my new outfit, she complained.
Just one more pawn in the game to wipe out, Oblita. Then I promise you, you can fight someone worth your while.
But I want Stargirl, she beckoned.
Youll get what you want, young one. Just remember, we need to do more testing on her, so that you will be at your fullest extent of power, the voice transmitted.
Whatever. You just make sure this other guy will make up for it.
Dont you worry, well find you a challenge you cant refuse.
I was long-winded, but I managed to form a small infantry to infiltrate Caltech Industries. Our team consisted of myself, Invisiman, as well as Shrinkray, who had the uncanny ability to shrink objects as well as people into pint-sized versions of themselves with a flick of his Shrink-pistol.
We hid in an alley next to the heavily guarded building.
"Alright, Invisiman, let's see what you can do," I beckoned.
He nodded. "No problem. These guys are push-overs. Gimme two minutes, and I'll have them calling for momma."
"Be careful out there. Don't get too cocky. These are super-soldiers. And remember, we're not exactly top-of-the-line superheroes you know," Shrinkray warned.
"I'll show 'em. I'll show 'em all what Invisiman can do! Yes sirree, after I take out all these supa-whatsits single-handedly, they'll be clamoring to promote me in the ranks for sure!"
Invisiman then shifted into his intangible form, and was off.
"Got your Shrinkray ready?" I asked.
"Yes, I don't expect he'll last long," He added.
