| -=- NEWS -=- Jeff Hardy and Lita are both suffering from injuries. Lita has a jammed toe (which is nearly healed) and Jeff Hardy is suffering from stomach pains. Neither of the two will miss any ring time. If you remember Jeff had severe pains in his side not too long ago. Lets hope he is ok, and heals up. It was a welcome surprise to see a fresh new tag team get some much needed limelight on Smackdown! as the so-so familiar tandem of D'Lo Brown and Chaz, team name Lo Down, hooked up with Jacqueline to take on the trio of the Hardy Boyz along with women's champ, Lita. The Hardys and Lo Down have virtually no history but with Edge & Christian seemingly unable to work their way into a rematch and with the Acolytes, Dudley Boyz and other tag teams occupied elsewhere, the WWF decided to give Lo Down a nice rub off the tag champs, by not only downing them in the mix tag match, but taking them to school after the match, so much that they nailed their patented finishing maneuver to ends things off. You gotta wonder if the writing team will build on this and move Lo Down up the ranks, possibly by giving them a straight up tag team shot later this month or whether D'Lo and Chaz will instead go back to working Jakked/Metal matches against Kaientai. In any case, an actual Hardys/Lo Down feud is a ways away since the latter team has a long way to go before getting anywhere near a crowd response warranted for a team of such high stature. The other branch off in the above match is that the WWF is still doing their best to keep the women's title fresh by following up on the backstage pull-apart brawl at RAW between Jackie and Lita by having the ladies get some good quality airtime as part of the first match. The bottom line here is that Lita will continue to mix it up with the likes of Jackie, Ivory and possibly even Trish Stratus until women like Nora Greenwald and Tori are ready to challenge. Greenwald for her part has been sent to Memphis to work on her wrestling and mic skills while feuding with Cyndi 'Bobcat' Lynch, who WWF fans may remember as the ho who briefly captured the hardcore title several months ago. And Tori of course is still over a month away from returning from major shoulder surgery. Tables, Ladders & Chairs (oh my!) is number 2 in the Recreational Video Chart. Appearance reminder: St. Louis Oct. 13 -- The Hardy Boyz and Lita will be signing autographs from 7 to 9 p.m. at he Darkness Haunted Theme Park, 1535 S. 8th St. Autographs are free with paid admission. ______________________________________________________________________ |
