Storyline:
I really liked the storyline to FF8. I could really tell that a lot of thought and effort was put into creating it. The story begins with a young man named Squall going out on a field exam for his SeeD membership. He attends a "garden" called Balamb. There are about 3 gardens and what they do is train future SeeD members, which are like the soldiers of the future. The trouble begins when a sorceress named Edea is put under the control of the most powerful sorceress Ultimecia, and tries to destroy all SeeDs! There's also a totally tear jerkin love story.
Characters:
The characters in FF8 are very well developed. We know their pasts, and are really involved in their personalities. The majority of the characters are Squall; gunblade: the hero, Rinoa; spiral thing: the free spirit, Quistis; whip: the strict teacher, Zell; fists: the ball of energy, Selphie; numchucks(spelling??): the innocent and cute girl, and Irvine; gun: the sharpshooter.
MY FAVS: QUISTIS AND RINOA
LEAST FAV: IRVINE
Gameplay:
This game broke the rules on the FF series. Instead of MP, the characters 'draw; magic from monsters and draw points. And the summon monster take damage while they are being summoned because it takes longer to summon one. And the summon monsters and the characters have relationships! And i love the Triple Triad card game!
Overall:
I loved FF8 dispite the thoughts of some critics. I couldn't imagine how much time was put into making this game. It was so detailed and very complex. It makes me mad that some people couldn't appreciate that!
