Final Fantasy 7: C and Z part 3

Sephiroth was sitting in the middle of the peninsula in his underwater cavern, concentrating. He was exploring the darkest recesses of his mind, searching for his true powers. His eyes were closed; he couldn't see the area around him physically, but his mind's eye was not closed. He couldn't see anything physical, but he could feel where everything was. A more sophisticated version of echolocation, the version of 'sight' that bats use by screeching and listening to the rebounded sound waves. Sephiroth's 'sight' was similar to echolocation, but he sent out mind waves instead of sound waves. Instead of waiting for rebounds, he feels out where everything is with those mind waves.
Opening his eyes, Sephiroth focused his mental strength on a group of small rocks. The rocks began to shake violently, and started to float up into the air. Sephiroth's eyes flashed, and the tiny rocks shattered into dust.

"Well, this is the place we last saw the damn thing," Cid told Cloud, pointing to the dark-blue ocean below them. They were at the exact spot they saw the
Sapphire-lookalike.
"Where do you think it could've gone?" Cloud asked.
"I'd say underwater, but Reeve and his men have searched the entire ocean end to end and haven't found a thing," Nanaki replied.
"Whoa, guys! Junon Submarine No. 31 just reported a really big problem. I'll give you a hint: its big, nasty, and green." Reeve told them, hanging up his cellular phone.
"EMERALD?!?" Cloud, Cid, and Nanaki asked all at once.
"Maybe," Reeve started, "it could be just another lookalike; just like Sapphire had a lookalike."
"Let's just pray its just another damn lookalike," Cid muttered, "I don't want to go through another fight like THAT again,"

The Emerald-lookalike continued its hasty swim, heading for its home base: Sephiroth's underwater cavern. This new WEAPON was 500 feet tall and 300 feet wide; its shoulder span was 350 feet wide. The thing was green, like Emerald, and had 20 different eye sockets running across its shoulder span, just like Emerald. Besides the increased size and the numerous eye sockets, this thing was the identical twin of the real Emerald WEAPON in appearance.
The Junon Submarine No. 31 tried veering away from the monster, but they were just too slow. The WEAPON rammed into the sub, causing the underwater vehicle to explode into a million tiny pieces.
The WEAPON continued its swim, heading towards what appeared to be a mere rock wall. The WEAPON's eye sockets flashed, and the rock wall opened up, revealing that Sephiroth had added a new camouflage door in the cavern's entrance. The WEAPON went in, and stood up in the middle of the huge cavern. Sephiroth was once again on his computer, typing away.
"That exploding sub didn't even phase you," the dark man muttered, "good. Very good. It did, however, manage to scratch your new paint job,"
"Sephiroth, when are we going to kill Cloud and his friends?" Zack asked impatiently.
"In time. Cloud still refuses to experiment with his feelings for the girl. Once he has accepted his feelings for her, we will destroy him. By killing the woman he loves,"
"Just like he did to me, by killing Aeris," Zack whispered.
"Precisely,"

"Damn, that WEAPON just killed the men on the sub," Reeve said, choking up.
"I'll bet you hate having to be the man giving out orders that could kill your men." Barret said sympathetically.
"Yeah. I knew some of those men. Their captain especially. He's got a wife and three kids. He was supposed to go back home for shore leave in a week to celebrate his youngest son's fifth birthday." Reeve's voice got quieter as he finished.
Cloud pounded his fist into the railing of the Highwind's outer deck. So many dying again. Like when Sephiroth went insane back at Nibelhiem. It was happening all over again.
*Cloud.....*
Not again.
*Cloud....*
Stop it.
*Kill.....*
Leave me alone!
*Sephiroth...kill*
Shut up! Shut up! I don't want you in my head! I already killed him!
Cloud tightened his grip on the railing, beads of sweat on his forehead.
Tifa looked at him worriedly, having an idea of what he's going through; their time in the Lifestream had allowed Tifa to somehow sense what was going on in Cloud's mind.
"Its getting late. It'll be dark soon," Barret muttered.
"We'd better land, start searching for the WEAPONs tomorrow," Vincent said.
Yuffie yawned before she said, "Yeah, I could (yawn) use some (yawn) sleep after a (yawn) day like (yawn) this,"
"I'll help Cloud to his room," Tifa said, leading Cloud by the hand down the Highwind's staircase.

Cloud groggily woke up the next morning, the sun shining directly into his eyes. He thought he heard Tifa say something about taking him to his room.....
After getting his bearings, Cloud looked around and realized that this wasn't his room: it was Tifa's. *What the hell am I doing in Tifa's room? In her bed?* He looked to his side and found Tifa sleeping there, a smile on her face. *Uh oh, now I remember. I never thought our friendship would go this far...*
Tifa slowly opened her eyes and looked at him, understanding his dilemma. She leaned over to him and kissed him, trying to help him come to terms with what happened to them last night.

The nightmares returned the very next night.
He was back in Nibelhiem, six years ago. He was sixteen years old. A normal escort guard for Sephiroth and Zack.
Now he was in the Mako Reactor, a younger Tifa was lying there, still as death, bleeding from a gash that ran from the left side of her waist to her right shoulder. Zack was nowhere to be seen.
Zack flew through the air a second later, a hole in his side. He crashed into a row of testing pods, his sword in hand.
Now he was in the Jenova Chamber. Sephiroth was there, reaching for Jenova. A quick slash would do him in. Why couldn't he lift the sword?? Sephiroth turned and came at him with his Masamune blade. This isn't right! This never happened!
Now he was looking at Tifa. Not the girl who went with him, Zack, and Sephiroth all those years ago, but the grown woman he had slept with. She was standing in a field of wildflowers, happy as could be..... The darkness came, engulfing everything, the flowers wilting and dying..... That laugh. That mocking laugh.
Sephiroth came from the darkness, blade resting against the back of Tifa's slender neck, poised to strike. He was saying something to him....he couldn't hear him that well, but it sounded like: "Surrender yourself, or I will kill your lover," That monster didn't even wait for his answer, he just swung, ripping the life from Tifa as surely as he had ripped Aeris's life from her body......

Cloud sat up in bed, drenched in sweat, shivering uncontrollably, again he was in Tifa's bed, with her next to him. She wrapped her arms around him, trying to stop his convulsions. But there was nothing she could do for him. She couldn't stop his nightmares.

Sephiroth opened his eyes. (place Sephiroth's theme song here) He stood up, wearing only his pants and boots, his shirt, guantlets, and coat all in a pile near the edge of the peninsula. Zack came in, Buster Sword in its scabbard.
"I can feel it," Sephioth told him, not turning around, "He's finally done it. Now we can attack," He didn't need to turn around to know that Zack was grinning evilly. They both had been waiting to destroy Cloud.
Now, their chance had come to finish him.
