In 1475, the very first coffee shop opened it's doors to the public. The coffee was then introduced to Captain John Smith, of Jamestown, Virginia, back in 1607.. The first coffee shops opened in England in the year 1652...They were referred to as Penny-pinchers because they would only charge a penny for a cup of coffee. In 1908, the first drip~coffee maker was invented. The first auto expresso machine was invented back in 1933, by a man named: Dr. Ernest Illy.. Nestley Company developes the first instant coffee named Nescafe, back in 1938.. By the year 1995, coffee becomes the most popular drink world wide!!400 billion or so cups of coffee served each day...
