Due for release alongside (well, actually
bundled with) House of the Dead II on
March 25, Sega's previously-announced
light gun peripheral is a good deal more
innovative than we could have hoped for.
In addition to the requisite trigger (duh!)
appears a Dreamcast controller-style
D-pad (on the rear of its pistol grip), two
additional fire buttons, and a slot at its
rear which can accommodate either a
VMS or Puru-Puru (feedback) module.
We can only imagine the possibilities that
the D-pad can open up (can you say
first-person shooter with light gun
support?), and the inclusion of a means for built-in feedback is even
better. We'll have our first impressions of this extremely promising
peripheral when it arrives in Japan next month.
