The feud between the Brood and Michael Hayes and the Hardy Boyz
continued to sizzle on HEAT as the six men faced off in an elimination match.
Jeff Hardy eliminated Gangrel after a suplex into a bridge. Jeff went on to pin
Edge after Matt delivered a stiff DDT outside the ring. But Christian fought
back and eliminated Michael Hayes and Jeff Hardy, leaving Matt Hardy and
Christian as the final two competitors. From backstage, Too Much came out,
carrying a boom box and dressed in urban attire. Brian Christopher and Scott
Taylor ambushed Matt Hardy and tossed him back in the ring, where he was
quickly finished off by Christian!
DLo Brown and "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry once again tried to take
home the Tag Team Titles as they took on the Acolytes. Just when it seemed
like the perennial bridesmaids of the tag team division would earn the gold,
Mideon and Viscera came down to the ring, causing a disqualification. The
Acolytes hung on to the Tag Team Titles, and to add a little insult to injury,
the four Corporate Ministry members gang attacked DLo and "Sexual
Chocolate."
Next up, Jim Ross interviewed Debra and Jeff Jarrett. The Intercontinental
Champion took offense to JR saying Debras name before hisJarrett
insisted that he was the one the spotlight should shine on, and that Debra was
his personal property! Jarrett continued that anyone who wants Debra would
have to go through him first! Suddenly Test appeared and said he wasnt
interested in Debra but he wanted Jarrett in the ring later on HEAT! Jarrett
accepted immediately.
In a match ordered by new CEO Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Big Show
teamed up with Hardcore Holly to face X-Pac and Kane. Holly insisted that
the Big Show stand on the outside and let Holly do all the work. When Holly
continued to get in the Big Shows face, the Big Show finally got fed up and
chokeslammed his tag team partner and walked away. X-Pac stood by
dumbfounded for a few seconds before covering Holly for the victory!
Val Venis took on Droz, accompanied by Prince Albert, in singles
competition. Val got the win with a Money Shot, but after the match Prince
Albert laid out the Big Valbowski, and then the Prince and Droz pierced
Vals nose!
After being challenged just minutes before, Jeff Jarrett put the Intercontinental
Title on the line as he took on Test. When referee Harvey Whippleman was
inadvertently knocked unconscious, Ken Shamrock came out and assaulted
his archrival Jarrett. Test made the cover and the referee counted to three!
But after referee Tim White came out and informed Whippleman of
Shamrocks interferenceand after Debra whispered something in
Whipplemans earthe referee reversed his decision and Jarrett kept the
title.
The second match of the night involving King of the Ring tournament
participants was up next as Ken Shamrock teamed up with Road Dogg to
take on "Badd Ass" Billy Gunn and Chyna. Jeff Jarrett appeared on the
entranceway, taunting Ken Shamrock, and the "Worlds Most Dangerous
Man" went chasing after, leaving the Road Dogg by himself. Road Dogg
looked to be in trouble, but he countered Mr. Asss Fame-Ass-Er into a
powerslam and got the victory! Triple H came out after the match and he,
Mr. Ass and Chyna ganged up on Road Dogg. X-Pac came out, but he too
was outnumbered. Finally the Big Red Machine arrived and Triple H, Chyna
and Mr. Ass ran away. But Road Dogg tossed Chyna back into the ring, and
the Ninth Wonder of the World was the victim of a chokeslam as HEAT
went off the air! |
