NOTICE: 'Anglo-Indian The Newsletter' is an individual non-profit venture of Mr. Melvyn Brown, who does not receive any funds from individuals in India or abroad.The work done for the community is a personal non-commercial venture of Mr. Melvyn Brown, who has a deep personal interest in the Anglo-Indian community as well as in the Catholic Church.
The Anglo-Indian League is non-profit,non-political and acts as a service to the Anglo-Indian community.There is no membership fee and no commitment.We depend on free-will offerings which go towards all reach-out efforts of the Anglo-Indian League.The League registers,collects information and documents facts on Anglo-Indians worldwide.

Who is an Anglo-Indian?
An Anglo-Indian is a person:
[a]whose Mother-tongue is English;and
[b]whose Father or any of whose pro-genitors in the male line is or was of European descent;
[c]who is Domiciled within the territory of India and is or was born within such territory of parents who are or were permanently resident therein or who is a naturalised Indian citizen,or who is a citizen of India as defined in PartII of the Constitution of India,or any amendment thereto and/or
the Citizenship Act[No.LVII of 1955]or any amendment thereto.
In Article 366[2]of the Constitution of India:
"An Anglo-Indian" means a person whose Father or any of whose other male progenitors in the male line is or was of European descent but who is domiciled within the territory of India and is or was born within such territory of parents habitually resident therein and not established there for temporary purposes only.
