Telugu Association of North America
Telugu Association of North America (TANA) is an organization of people of Teluguorigin residing in North America. TANA was formed to preserve and propagate the Telugucultural heritage and maintain the identity of people of Telugu origin and to provide aforum for Telugu literary, cultural, educational, social, and charitable interactionsamong its members. Founded in 1977, it is one of the oldest Indo-American national levelorganizations. TANA, which had its first national conference in 1977, was formallyincorporated as a not-for-profit public organization in 1978.

Objectives of TANA
To preserve, maintain, and perpetuate the cultural heritage of the people of Telugu origin in North America.
To assist and propagate cultural, educational, social, economic, and community affairs of the people of Telugu origin in North America.
To promote establishment of Telugu organizations in regions of North America where there are no such organizations.
To organize periodic Telugu literary, cultural, and educational conferences throughout the North American continent to promote the objectives of TANA.
To collaborate in the organization of Telugu literary, cultural, and educational conferences in other countries.
To foster friendship and understanding among Telugu people, and between people of Telugu origin and other people.
To foster friendship and understanding among Telugu people, and between people of Telugu origin in other places.
To raise, solicit, collect and disburse funds, charities, and donations for cultural, educational, and charitable purposes either directly or in cooperation with other not-for-profit organizations in the U.S. and abroad.

Profile
TANA is one of the biggest Indo-American organizations with 10,000 members. TANA publishes bilingual monthly newsletter, TANA patrika which is mailed to its members. TANA executive committee members conduct day to dayoperations of TANA and execute the policies of TANA as approved by the governing board anddirectives provided in the Constitution and Bylaws. TANA foundation is an autonomous bodyof TANA whose objectives are to promote developmental projects in the areas of Teluguspeaking people and to help the needy people in the case of natural calamities andemergencies. TANA holds a biannual national conference called North America Telugu Conferenceon July 4th weekend on an odd number year and a biannual national youth conference calledthe TANA Youth Conference on memorialday weekend on an even number year.

Welcome to Telugu Association Inc Online. Telugu Association is an Incorporated, non-profit, voluntary organisation representing and serving the majority of the Telugu community of Sydney from 1993 onwards. The fifth birthday of the Association was celebrated during the Ugadi function on March 29 1998. Also a special issue of the literary magazine and newsletter of the Association, Vahini was released on the same day.
Telugu Association has achieved quite a few milestones in these five years by encouraging the talent in the community in various fields. Support from The Community , Business Sponsors and The Ethnic Affairs Commission of NSW , a division of The Government of NSW have made this possible. Telugu Assocation crossed another milestone when the life members count crossed 100 in 1998-99. Thanks for the support !!!
