How to get rid of greasies: After Shampooing , douse your head with about a quarter-cup of Vinegar. If your hair is supertangled, use a light conditioner afterward: If it's knot-free you can go without.
Hydrate dried-out hair: Peel one avocado and mush it in a bowl until it forms a paste. Massage into hair and scalp , then wrap tresses in a towel and leave it for 30 min. Shampoo out w/ warm water and follow with usual canditioner.
Add body to limp locks: In a bowl, mix 1 egg yolk(for normal or dry hair) Or 1 entire egg(for oilier locks) with a quarter size drop of mild shampoo (baby shampoo)Wash hair with mixture and warm water then use a light detangler.
Relieve itchy scalp: combine a teaspoon of fresh nettle with 4 cups of water. Simmer on stove for 30 min. Let cool, then apply as a finishing rinse after washing and conditioning.
Boost your B=natural color: Steep a chamomile tea bag for about 30 min, or brew an extra pot of java. Let the mixture cool, then use to rinse dry hair. Allow to st on hair for about 45 min, then wash out with a mild shampoo.
KO parched skin: Combine about a 1/4 cup of mayo w/ the same ammount of cornmeal. Massage with washcloth onto rough areas. Lock in moisture afterward by applying a body lotion.
Slough away scales: Combine about a 1/4 cup of Kosher salt w/ just enough olive oil to make paste. Massage onto wet skin with hand or washcloth, then rinse with warm water.
Soothe irritation or sunburn: Saturate a few gauze pads with cold buttermilk, place pads on skin, and leavve on till coldness wears off. Repeat.
Whisk away grit and grime: For normal skin, use cotton pads to spread about 2 tablespoons of full fat yogurt all over your face. Then rince w/ tepid water. if you have oilie skin add a teaspoon of lemon juice to the mix; for superdry skin, use a teaspoon of olive oil.
De-grease oily skin: Squeeze the juice of 2 lemons into a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of water. Sweep onto just-cleaned skin with cotton ball and let dry naturally. Major note; Use this toner only at bedtime- lemon juice w/ sunlight can react on your skin, leaving you w/ brown sploches where the lemon toner was.
Freshen up dry or normal skin: Cut 1 cucumber lenghtwise, then puree n a blender until smooth. Spread onto skin with a connon ball, let sit for 10 min. then rince w/ cool water.
Ditch dullness: Cut a few slices of fresh pinapple, and gently stroke over face. Rince w/ warm water.
Zap zits: mix 2 tablespoons of dry oatmeal w/ just enough olive oil to make a paste. Massage onto zit-prone areas for about 5 min. then rince w/ warm water.
Fade sun induced freckles: Crush about a half-cup of strawberries into a small bowl. Spread evenly over face, and lean back for 15 min (so berry goop doesn't slide off) rinse w/ lukewarm water. Keep in mind, that if you were born w/ tons of freckles, nothin will get rid of them. sorry.
Smooth chapped, dry hands: Peel one very ripe banana. Mash it in a bowl with a fork. Gradually add about a tablespoon of olive oil. Slather the mixture onto hands, slip each hand into a clean sock and wear overnight.
Mend Cracked cuticules: Heat a few tablespoons of olive oil in the microwave- make as warm as you can handle without burning yourself. Soak fingertips in oil for about 15 min. Then gently push back cucticles with a warm, wet washcloth. Tip; try this before bedtime, so you can leave the oil on overnight.
