With teen movies slamming the box office every other week there are bound to be a few disasters along with a few less than entertaining performances. However, along with the bad there are bound to be a few stars that rise above the rest. No one can deny, that of the young leading men, Freddie Prinze Jr. catches your eye and makes you pay attention. Whether it's exciting us in the edge-of-your-seat thriller, "I Know What You Did Last Summer", or leaving the ladies breathless playing the handsome boyfriend type in "She's All That", he won't let you look away.
Freddie was born March 8, 1976 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended several different schools while being involved in Theater and Drama companies. He graduated from La Cueva High School in 1994. Following his graduation he moved to Los Angeles to try and advance his acting career.
His first spot in the limelight came when he got a four-line part on Family Matters playing the bad seed at school. He then went on to small roles in After School Specials and made for television movies. He made his first big screen appearance in "To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday", where he acted alongside Michelle Pfeiffer and Claire Danes. He only played a small role as Danes' boyfriend, but it was enough to get somebody's attention. What a time to have the "handsome boyfriend" look. The teen movie boom was ready to explode. Freddie was cast to star in "I Know What You Did Last Summer". This flick, along with "Scream", ignited the teen explosion and rocketed our star onto the main stage. Prinze then went on to star in the sequel "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer".
His broad talent and good looks then led him to star in the fun, romantic comedy "She's All That". This refreshing film along with a superb performance showed Prinze's versatility.
He then starred in a not-so-big hit "Wing Commander", co-starring Matthew Lillard. His acting skills and presence alone couldn't help this film. However, our star is not doomed. He's still way appealing and pushing ahead, and we're still watching
