- Sit quietly somewhere you love, whether it's the beach, a forest, or your bedroom
- Dance around your bedroom to your favorite music (in your pajamas)
- Do something for someone else: You might meet someone who is just as badly off as you, and who has survived it, and has advice for you
- Create a new recipe: Mix together everything that you love (well, almost-ketchup and chocolate are probably not a good combo) and hope it comes out good
- Take a walk: Exercise releases feel-good hormones
- Play a game. As a matter of fact, invite all your friends over for a huge game night (Good suggestions are: Cranium, Outburst, Pictionary, and Taboo)
- Throw yourself a party. After all, people expect you to be a little eccentric right now...when else will you get the opportunity?

- Listen to a comedian (Suggestions: Jerry Seinfeld, Dane Cook, Brian Regan, Ray Romano)
- Write letters to the one you've lost. Burn them if you feel like it. Watch the ashes rise, and know that they are receiving your thoughts
- Just take care of yourself. You don't have a responsibility to anyone right now, so don't feel like you do. Your friends will understand, and so will your family. Take this time to remember who you are, and to learn who you want to be
