Sometimes you're just down, and don't know what to do. Here are some ideas, for those times when you just feel like being alone:
  1. · Wicked, by Gregory Maguire
  2. · Sloppy Firsts, by Megan McCafferty
  3. · Angels and Demons, by Dan Brown
  4. · The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown
  5. · Deception Point, by Dan Brown
  6. · The Nanny Diaries, by Emma McLaughlin
  7. · America,The Book, by Jon Stewart
  8. · Eragon, by Christopher Paolini
  9. · Art Geeks and Prom Queens, by Alyson Noel
  10. · Harry Potter, by JK Rowling
I know it's wicked overdone to say, but sometimes reading a good book really is just what you need. Here are some suggestions:
Then again, sometimes reading is just too much work. How about a funny movie? (Warning: Some of these-no that's a lie-ALL of these are ridiculously dumb)
  1. Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle
  2. National Lampoon's Van Wilder
  3. Zoolander
  4. Dude, Where's My Car?
  5. Dumb and Dumber
What about music? If you're looking for songs that have to do with death, grief, or hope, choose one of these:
  • "View From Heaven" by Yellowcard (kind of sad, a little angry)
  • "For Good" from Wicked (really beautiful, about the marks left upon our lives by those we've lost)
  • "2 Worlds, 1 Family" by Phil Collins (From Tarzan, but kind of appropriate. Pretty, hopeful, kind of jungle-y sounding, which I suppose makes sense)
  • "Goodbye To You" by Michelle Branch (Pretty, pop, about losing someone)(duh-that's the point of this list)
  • "River Of Dreams" by Billy Joel (Kind of deep and metaphorical, spiritual, but not religious. Upbeat melody)
  • "Angel Of Mine" by Brandy (Talks about how important our "angels" are)
  • "Defying Gravity" from Wicked (About how our lost ones are flying free)
  • "Don't stop Dancing" by Creed (Especially appropriate if the one you've lost is young)
  • "A New Day Has Come" by Celine Dion (Very hopeful-for those times when you're starting to feel like living again)
  • "Send Me On My Way" by Rusted Root (About moving on)
  • "Circle Of Life" from The Lion King (You all knwo what this one is about)
  • "Dare You To Move" by Switchfoot (Again, this is for those times when you start to pick yourself back up, because you will have those times, even if they aren't right now)
  • "Everywhere" by Michelle Branch (Because sometimes we see their faces everywhere)
  • "Hero" by Mariah Carey (About the hero in you, the one who guides you through these tough times, the one who lets you keep surviving)
  • "I Hope You Dance" by Leeann Womack (About enjoying life. You made have lost someone, but wouldn't they want you to live a full life? A true friend would, and I'm sure that whoever you lost was, or else you would't be here)
