THE MESSAGE BEHIND: MARK 8:34 - * TAKE UP YOUR CROSS * - Christian

Mark 8:34 -
"If anyone comes after me, he must deny himself, take his cross, and follow after me."

This is what Jesus spoke to the crowd and His disciples.
So what does this all mean? Well, it doesn't mean that you have to carry a wooden cross like Jesus did for you. What this verse means has a very important meaning. We, as Christians, MUST follow along with what this verse means.
Let's start at the beginning.
This verse means if anyone wants to follow Christ and be a witness for Him, they must deny themselves....give everything you have to God and let Him be in control of your life, take up their cross....do God's will EACH AND EVERY day, and follow after me....keep on following Jesus daily. Be in the Word everyday, for our Father tells us to. Be bold and stand firm with what Jesus wants you to become. Just think, JESUS, the same person who gave His life for you, wants you to just give it all to Him and follow Him. Isn't that so awesome? He wants to be YOUR friend. Just turn it all over to him, do His will everyday, and keep on followin Him!
