Communication

If there is one factor that can enable a team to rise above the rest it is communication. Good communication among a team can give them the edge that they need to win. Now what exactly does good communication consist of? First your team should really work on talking to each other, let your teammates know what is going on in the field during a game. Make a point to call out other players positions so that the rest of your team knows what is going on, ask for cover fire. After you learn to talk to each other you should then create some team codes. Codes will allow you to talk to each other with out your opposition knowing what you are a saying. Below are some examples.

0- cover fire
6- going for the flag pull
black- man on the move
23- marker down
24- marker up
67- going to bunker opposing player

Be sure to keep these codes secret ( duh ). Learn these codes by heart so that you don’t have to hesitate calling them out or pause and try to remember what they mean. Once you memorize your codes create some not codes which mean nothing but will leave your opponents confused and nervous. The not codes are the codes that you can scream out when you want to create some confusion or vent some frustration on the field. The last tourney I played our communication was the biggest factor that helped us take first. Communication will help keep every one up to date on the current situation. So remember that communication is one of the easiest ways for a team to better themselves and all that it takes is a bit of practice and memorization.
