| Okay, if you want a general description of the major characters in the Star Wars movies, you've come to the right place. I'll do this in order of movies, starting with The Phantom Menace. The Phantom Menace Qui-Gon Jinn- A Jedi master, he is calm, cool, and in tune with the Force. He would have a seat on the Jedi Council if he wouldn't persist in going his own way without approval of the council. His Padawan is the young Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan Kenobi- A Padawan to Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, he is headstrong and ambitious, but kind and caring, too. He concentrates more on what is going to happen in the future instead of the present. Anakin Skywalker- A nine year old boy, he was possibly conceived by midi-chlorians. A slave, he was raised on the planet of Tatooine and is owned by Watto, a Toydarian. Qui-Gon discovers him and makes a bet which he wins to free Anakin, so Anakin can be taken to the Jedi Council in Coruscant. Queen Amidala/Padme Naberrie- Newly elected Queen of the Naboo, her kingdom is under attack from the Trade Federation. With help from the Jedi, she must help free her kingdom and her people. Jar Jar Binks- A Gungan banished from Otohgunga for being "clumsy", he is rescued by Qui-Gon, and surprisingly provides help to Amidala. Darth Maul- A Sith, he is an apprentice to Darth Sidious. He is anxious to reveal that the Sith are still alive, and wishes to destroy the Jedi. Darth Sidious- The only remaining Sith, he takes on an apprentice named Darth Maul and trains him to accomplish one goal: destroy the Jedi. A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi Boba Fett- The most notorious bounty hunter in the galaxy, he is feared by many. He has a rivalry with Han Solo, and is constantly trying to capture him. When he accepts the challenge of capturing him for Vader and Jabba the Hutt, he succeeds and delivers him to Jabba frozen in carbonite. It is in Return of the Jedi that he meets his doom with the Sarlacc in the Great Pit of Carcoon. Of course, he manages to escape and is nursed back to health by a friend. Fett is the only known being to escape the Sarlacc. No one we know of has ever seen his face. Luke Skywalker- Son of Anakin Skywalker, he has Jedi abilities, yet is not trained to use them, because he lives with his aunt and uncle on a moisture farm on Tatooine. Then, he discovers a message which leads him to Obi-Wan, or Ben Kenobi. Princess Leia Organa- Taken hostage by Darth Vader(a.k.a. Anakin Skywalker), she refuses to reveal any information about the rebels, leading to the destruction of her home planet of Alderaan. Han Solo- A smuggler, Luke and Ben convince him to help them to rescue Leia. Han eventually finds himself falling in love with her, although this isn't as noticable in the first movie. Chewbacca (Chewie)- A Wookiee, he hangs around with Han, and helps to fly his ship, the Millenium Falcon. Old Ben Kenobi- A recluse, he discovers Luke is strong in the Force and teaches him how to use a lightsaber. In The Empire Strikes Back, he instructs Luke to visit Yoda. Yoda- A great Jedi Master, he trains Luke in the Force and tells him the truth about his father and his sister. Darth Vader- Anakin Skywalker, he no longer uses the Force for good deeds, but is intent on crushing the rebels and the only chance of the Jedi, his son, Luke Skywalker.
