Well, here's the rumors page. Keep in mind, this may contain spoilers, so read at your own risk. Of course, if you're like me, someone who looks for every tidbit of information I can get my hands on, go ahead and plunge right in! Also, none of this may turn out to be true, so don't believe any of it until it's confirmed.
- - All right. I think by now we've all heard about the Darren Hayes deal. Well, here's the thing. Just this morning, I heard on my local radio station that he had gotten a part in Episode 2. If you've visited TF.N, you know that they said he had not been cast. The media is saying he has been, but reliable sites have been saying he hasn't. What's the deal?
- - Okay, we all know that Christopher Lee has been cast as a "charismatic separatist", according to the official site. Could he be the founder of the rebellion? I mean, okay, here we have Palpatine taking over the Senate and stuff and proclaiming himself Emperor and all that. Well, wouldn't a "separatist" want to "separate" from that? So maybe Chritopher Lee's character will be the one to spark the rebellion. Just a thought. And we also know that Susie Porter will be playing a waitress. Yeah, that's right, a waitress. Maybe in a Cantina? That would be cool. Or maybe in a restaurant or something. She obviously has a semi-important role because none of the extras have been posted on the official site cast list. Maybe Fett or Aurra Sing has to get information from her or something. Or, like I read somewere else, maybe she's a waitress for Anakin and Amidala when they go on a date. But back to Fett...why hasn't he been cast??? If he's a definite character, then lucas should have cast him by now. All the others have been cast. Maybe one of the other cast members is playing him, but Lucas just hasn't announced it yet. Maybe one of the boys (Daniel Logan or Matt Doran) will be playing a young Fett. In any case, it's driving me crazy!
- - Apparently Darren Hayes from Savage Garden has not been cast. Some sites are saying he was never up for the role at all, even though the press had announced that he had gotten the role and they even specified that it was a bounty hunter who made a quick appearance and had no lines. We'll see how this one turns out.
- - Whoa. A little bit of commentary from me. Me, being the Fett freak that I am decided to go hunt down every single rumor I could find about him in Episode 2. My poor brain. Do you know how hard it is to keep all the age references and his son's age and who's going to be the Fett in the original trilogy? It was more like, Fett is Kitster, but if Fett has a son then it's unlikely that Fett would be Kitster because Kitster would only be 19, which means that his son couldn't be older than 2, so it would be unlikely that his son would be the Fett in the original trilogy, and Kitster would be in his 40's...wait a minute. That makes sense. Now, I know those trading cards will probably have no effect on who George Lucas makes the character, but if Episode 2 and 3 span about a 3 year period, and it's about a 20 years period from Ep. 3 to ANH, plus about another 3 years for ESB and ROTJ, that would make Fett (if he was Kitster) 45. Right? Yeah. So, for the Kitster/Fett theory, the age thing supports it. Now, what does this have to do with any kind of rumor? Ummmm...disproving the fact that Fett has a son? I don't know. I just posted it to get people thinking. For more mind-boggling Fett rumors that are a lot more confusing, visit www.aldera.net/theories_bobafett.html
- - Temuera Morrison is rumored to have been cast in Episode 2. For pictures, go to www.theforce.net Maybe he'll play Fett. :-)
- - This is quite an interesting rumor. I've come across a few sites that have claimed in Episode 2 that say (don't read if you don't want to know!) Boba Fett may have a son. How much would that change our image of that character? Anyway, after reading tons of message boards and rumor sites, I got to thinking that maybe Fett (the prequel Fett) passed his armor down to his son, who became the bounty hunter we know and love in the original trilogy. Of course, it's just a rumor.
- - If you visited the news page, you read that designs for apartments were being worked on. That much is fact, but of course, that's where speculation begins. I've read that Amidala's apartment is going to be large, airy, and ornate, like a small version of the palace. Fett's apartment, on the other hand, might be small, dark, and not very well furnished.
- - Still on the topic of Fett and his apartment. Although I don't know if it 's been outright confirmed, it seems pretty much accepted that Fett is going to remove his helmet in Episode 2. Now for the apartment factor - - wouldn't it be logical for him to take off his helmet in his apartment where no one will see him? As of now, we've only seen Fett in the company of others (well, except for one scene in ESB). But does it really make sense for him to wear his helmet when he's alone? I wouldn't think so. So maybe we're going to see Fett in his apartment with his helmet off...or his ship.
- - Darren Hayes, lead singer of the pop group Savage Garden, told a group of fans he would be auditioning for Episode 2 on the 18th of May. The role he auditioned for and whether he got it has yet to be announced.
- - It has been said that after Episode 2 comes out, fans will know a lot more about Boba Fett than they do now.
- - More on the Darren Hayes topic: he is a good friend of George Lucas and a Texas radio stations reported that he had gotten the role, although they refused to tell their sources. Now, if Hayes has been cast, what character would he be? What do you think?
- - Designs for battle tanks look the same on the exterior as they did in Episode 1.
- - Jackie Chan hinted on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that he would like to be in a Star Wars movie. As a bad guy he'd be great, being able to do his own stunts and all.
- - Hugh Quarshie, who played Captain Panaka in Episode 1, has been invited back for Episode 2, but he's not sure he wants to take the role. He has said that when he sees the script, if his character dies in the first ten minutes or the like, he's not going to do it.
- - Here's a little story that's not quite a rumor, but funny anyway. Apparently, the set designers had chosen a color for Padme's couch. (We don't know what color.) There was a problem because one of her dresses was too close in color to the couch fabric. So, instead of remaking the dress, they recovered the couch in a different color. There was a similar problem when the handmaidens' dresses were too close in color to Palpatine's quarters, but it wasn't changed because they're supposed to blend into the backround.
- - Supposedly Hugh Quarsie has declined the role of Captain Panaka in Episode 2.
- - Hee hee hee! Guess who is returning for Episode 2? I really want to keep you in suspense, but I have a feeling if I do I'll get hate mail ( well, since no one e-mails me anyway - hint, hint - I doubt it) so I'll tell you. In an interview George Lucas confirmed that Ray Park will be in the film, but NOT playing Darth Maul! As soon as this hits the official site, ( until it's on the official site, it's not final in my book ), this will be transferred to the news page.
- - Mace Windu (played by Samuel L. Jackson) will have a huge fight scene in the next movie.
- - Samuel L. Jackson has said he will begin filming next month (July) on the sixth.
- - Supposedly five girls have been cast for the upcoming movie as extras and one may have a line. They were all cast as Jedi.
- - The movie's running time is rumored to be longer than the previous ones, running about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. It is said to be this long because there is "a lot of explaining to do."
- - There may also be another major casting announcement due soon, coming within this week or early next week. Who the role is for is unknown.
More rumors as soon as I can dig some up... If you have any you've come across, as always, e-mail me or sign the guestbook. |
