Mud Volcanoes: Pulau Tiga has three mud volcanoes, each spewing methane gas and a cold grey mud. Castaways often trek to the mud volcanoes and coat their bodies in the mud for skin therapy.

Awrrrr: Greg's pirate voice. Used as a send-off to departing members of Pagong at Tribal Council.

Immunity Challenge: An intertribal competition where the winning tribe is exempt from attending Tribal Council, thus does not have to vote a member off the island. The losing team, on the other hand, must travel to Tribal Council and vote off a member. Immunity is good for one Tribal Council only.

Pagong Tribe: Named for the beach on which they live (located on the island's northeast tip), Pagong's members are Ramona, BB, Gretchen, Joel, Jenna, Greg, Colleen, and Gervase.

Pulau Tiga:The remote tropical island on which Survivor is being contested. Three miles long by a mile wide, this island lies forty miles east of the Bornean city of Kota Kinabalu. It was founded just a century ago by an earthquake off the Philippines. Wildlife includes monitor lizards, yellow-lipped kraits, reticulated pythons, flying foxes, and Malaysian field rats. The rats are edible.

Tagi Tribe: Named for the beach on which they live (located on the island's southest face), Tagi's members are: Stacey, Dirk, Richard, Susan, Kelly, Rudy, Sean, and Sonja.

Tribal Council: The forum for voting castaways off the island. One tribe attends every three days, with participation predicated upon losing an Immunity Challenge. The Tribal Council is located deep in the jungle, roughly a mile from both Pagong and Tagi Beaches.

Reward Challenge: An intertribal competition where the winning tribe receives a creature comfort or item to supplement island living.

Butok Beetle Larva A Malaysian delicacy, the Butok is either eaten deep-fried or live.
