Gohan takes his over-shirt off, then asks what does he have do do for his training. Piccolo replies "You just have to stay alive for 6 months." Then he flies away and Gohan cries because he doesn't want to be left alone. Meanwhile, Goku is still running on Snake Way to get to King Kai's planet. A T-rex like dinosaur finds Gohan and starts to chase him. While Gohan is runnig rfor his life, he trips and falls on the ground. Gohan gets mad. The dinosaur opens his mouth and swallows Gohan along with some dirt. Then Gohan is on top of a cliff above the dinosaur.
Meanwhile, Krillin is at Chi Chi's front door. He is supposed to tell Chi Chi about Radditz, but gets scared. Chi Chi opens the door and the Ox King is there too. They greet Krillin and he eats dinner with them and then spends the night there, but during the middle of the night, he slips out because he couldn't bear to tell them about Goku. He goes back to Master Roshi's house and tells him, Bulma, and Oolong that he couldn't tell them about Goku. Bulma calls Krillin a dweeb.Later that night, Gohan is still on top of the cliff and starts to get hungry. He gets too apples from the sky. It was really Piccolo, but Gohan doesn't know that. atfer he eats, he pees off the side of the cliff, and then sleeps. Then midday a heard of triceratops come running by the bottom os the cliff, and Gohan yells for help. Meanwhile, Chi Chi and Ox King are in an air car going start towards Master Roshi's. Chi Chi is mad and wants some answers. Bulma has just finished the scouter that they retrieved form Radditz and reads Krillins power level. It is 206. Then Master Roshi's 139. Then Turtles/Unigame's 0.001. Then Yajirobe knocks on the door. Krillin answers and says "Hey I know you, your uhh.. Hokey Pokey right?"
He tells them he was sent by Karin and that Krillin should report to Kami's lookout for training and to bring Tein, Yamcha, and Chaot zu. He then leaves. Chi CHi then arrives. Master Roshi tells Chi Chi and the Ox King about the battle with Radditz, and then Chi Chi faints. Meanwhile that night Gohan wakes up and looks at the full moon. He then turns Oozaru/Giant Ape form. Piccolo is training and finds Gohan. He finds out that the full moon is what made Gohan transform and he shoots a blast at the moon and it blows up. Gohan detransforms and is sleeping on the ground naked. Piccolo gives Gohan the same clothes his dad wears except that he has Piccolo's symbol in back and he has a sword. Then Piccolo flies off. Morning has come, and Gohan awakes to find himself no longer trapped on top of the cliff. In fact, the cliff has been destroyed! Wondering what happened, he decides to go wash his face, but when he tries to walk he loses his balance and falls. Finally he realizes that his tail is gone, and notices that he has new clothes. A crocodile chases him as he tries to wash up. Gohan grabs his sword and swings it wildly at the beast, only to find that a saber toothed tiger is attacking him from the other side! While running from the two, he ends up getting grabbed by a huge bird, which proceeds to fly off with him in it's talons, only to get into a fight with a pteradactyl! The bird loses it's grip, and the screaming Gohan falls to the earth with a thud.
Meanwhile, Yamcha is playing in a pennant match for a World League baseball team. He hates it, and says that he is a fighter, but Poar reminds him that fighting doesn't pay the bills. The coach tells Yamcha that if he can hit another homerun he will get a $20,000 bonus, but before he makes it up to the plate, a fight breaks out! Yamcha happily joins in the brawl, and easily beats up players from both teams, laughing all the while. Suddenly, amidst the clouds of dust, Krillin arrives and asks to speak to Yamcha. He informs Yamcha and Poar about Goku's death, and that they are going to get the Dragon Balls and wish him back. After a few harsh words between Bulma and Yamcha, Yamcha is excited to hear that Kami wants him to report for training, and they leave.
Gohan has caught a huge fish and is dragging it back to his cave. He calmly moves a snake out of his way and picks some fruits and berries, but falls out of the tree and scrapes his arm. Gohan returns to his cave and starts to prepare a medicinal salve that Goku had once made for him. It's hard for Gohan to believe that he is voluntarily putting the medicine on himself, even though it is so painful. As he applies the painful medicine, a pair of glowing eyes peer at him from deeper in the cave... Goku wakes up from his nap on Snake Way with a start, having scraped his arm on it's sharp edge. He can't remember how many weeks he's been running.
The sun shines on Gohan's face, and he awakens to see a huge dinosaur leering at him! Gohan runs from the cave, screaming, but then decides that he can't run away. After all, his father wouldn't. The dinosaur stumbles out of the cave, and falls over. A stick is jutting out from his side. Gohan strains and grunts, and finally pulls it out. As he prepares a salve for the dinosaur, he shows him that he already has the same medicine on his own arm. "This is an ancient remedy that'll make you feel like you've been stung by a bee," lectures Gohan, repeating the speech that his father once told him. Gohan puts the medicine on the brontosaurus. "I know it stings, but it has to be done!"
Gohan climbs along a ledge to get some mushrooms for the dinosaur, and he eats them in one bite. He goes off to get his new friend some berries. "Piccolo was wrong. I don't have to live alone out here. I made a friend!" Gohan realizes that his arms are looking stronger. He decides to jump out of the tall tree and get rid of his fear of heights. After falling a very long way, Gohan lands on his feet. It shakes him up a bit, but he is all right. Seeing a huge rock, he decides to test out his strength by punching it. He only manages to hurt his hand, and walks away disappointed. As he is leaving, the rock shatters.
As Gohan approaches his cave, he finds the same dinosaur that tried to eat him earlier attacking his friend! Gohan draws his sword and attacks as best he can, but he is knocked against a rock, and falls into the bushes, unconscious. The sunrise wakes Gohan and he stumbles toward his cave, wondering what happened. The bones of his friend lay all around, and Gohan realizes the terrible truth. His friend is dead. Picking up his sword, Gohan walks away. Tears of sadness turn into a smile of determination, as Gohan readies himself to face his next challenge.
While in survival training, Gohan falls into a hole in the desert, where he discovers an ancient probe robot in the cavernous ruins below. after Gohan reactivates the robot, it tells him to not disturb it, but when Gohan starts to cry he changes his mind and he watches over him as he is still dependent on others. Gohan tries to dig the robot out of hte sand as it tells him about the last eight years he has been buried there due to big earthquake as it was excavating the ruins. However, the cavern starts two crumble around Gohan and the robot. THen the robot sacrifices himself for Gohanand sends Gohan back to the surface, and the caves collapse on the robot. Tears go down Gohan, but he overcomes his sorrow for his friend and walks away into the desert.
Several months have passed since we last saw our heroes. Gohan wakes with the sunrise, grabs his coconut shell bowl, and happily runs to a tree. He gives it a swift kicks, catches the nuts as they fall, and proceeds to eat them by the handful for breakfast. As he munches away, a shadow forms over him. Gohan looks up to see the T-rex that had eaten his friend looming over him."Hey, what's up?" says Gohan. "Nice day, huh? You must be feeling lucky this morning." With that, the huge dinosaur lunges at the boy, who runs away calmly, with the dinosaur right behind him. After a long chase and a few taunts at the T-rex by Gohan, the T-rex slams into a cliff and is knocked unconscious. Gohan pulls out his sword and slices off a section of the dinosaur's tail, which has apparently already met this fate several times before. "Wow, tail steak for breakfast after all", says Gohan. "You keep this up, and you're not going to have any tail left!"
Gohan then sets a log on fire with a small fireball from his hand, and begins to cook the dino meat. Piccolo watches from above as usual, and is pleased to see that Gohan is getting better at fending for himself.
Meanwhile, Vegita and Nappa continue to make their way toward Earth. Vegita decides that it would be a good idea if they stopped and stretched their legs a bit by attacking a nearby planet. They arrive to find it in shambles, contrary to their reconaissance information. Suddenly, two huge worms emerge from the ground, each with an insect-like Arlian soldier on it's back. They inform the two Saiyans that they are trespassing on imperial property, and order them to surrender. As Nappa prepares to vaporize them, Vegita tells him telepathically to surrender, so they can have some fun. The Arlians quickly handcuff the two. As Goku continues his journey down Snake Way in heaven, he comes across a street sweeper, who informs Goku that he is only one quarter of the way to King Kai's even though he has been running for months! Exhausted and dismayed, Goku collapses on the road. "Hey, don't get down in the dumps", says the street sweeper driver. "I'll give you a lift". Goku graciously accepts, and falls asleep on the back of the sweeper.
After allowing themselves to be thrown into prison, Vegita and Nappa learn of the planet Arlia's plight. It seems that their new king is ruthless, and uses everyone as toys. One prisoner informs them that the king even took his wife on their wedding day, and threw him into prison. Warriors fight a battle to entertain the Arlian king. The loser is thrown into a pit with a huge beast.
Gohan continues his exploits in the wilderness by running from a saber toothed tiger as he gathers berries and nuts for dinner. The tiger collapses, exhausted. "Hey, don't give up," says Gohan. The tiger tries to go to sleep. Gohan picks a twig and starts swishing it back and forth to coax the tiger into chasing him some more. It works, and Gohan runs off, laughing happily. Just then, a huge tornado forms, swirling around so powerfully that it moves the mountains! Gohan and the tiger hang on to each other in an attempt to not be blown away. When the storm subsides, Gohan sees Piccolo meditating in the center of it. "Wow, Piccolo caused THAT!?!"
At that same moment, the Arlian king is bored. Suddenly, one of his men informs him that they have captured 2 aliens (Vegita and Nappa). Thinking that they might provide an interesting diversion, he orders the soldier to bring them in to fight, but before he could do so, Nappa and Vegita are already standing before his throne. "Your guards suffered an unfortunate accident", snickers Vegita. The king tells his new bride that she doesn't have to look at them, because they are so repulsive. At that, Nappa calls him a "funny-looking cricket-thing". Appreciative of the fighting passion in Nappa, the king says that he might prove interesting after all, but that Vegita, being so small, doesn't stand a chance.The champion combatant approaches for the fight. Vegita quickly blows his head off. When the king says that some of their fighters have mastered energy techniques too, Vegita says that he wants to fight them.
Immediately they are surrounded by them. By lifting his fingers into the air, Nappa vaporizes them all. Enraged, the king raises the monster Yeti from the pit. The monster, which basically looks like every other Arlian except he's really big, attacks the Saiyan duo with no success. Nappa blocks a punch by the giant and breaks of it's finger. Then he zaps it into oblivion. Vegita kills the Arlian king by levitating rocks into him as he tries to flee. The dust settles, and all is quiet. The prisoner whose wife was taken by the evil king emerges from the dungeon to find the king slain and the royal guard defeated. "Do you know what you've done?" he says emphatically. "You've ended a 200 year old reign of terror! You will forever be remembered as the heroes of our world!"
Nappa and Vegita summon their pods, and fly away. Just as the prisoner is being reunited with the love that he lost to the evil king, Vegita fires an energy beam down from orbit, destroying the planet and all of it's inhabitants."Now, on to Earth...to wish for immortality!" laughs Vegita as they climb back into their pods and jet away through space.
Meanwhile during this time, Bulma is searching for Tien, Chaot zu, and Yamcha with the scouter. THey find Tien and Chao zu training by a water fall and Lunch/Launch is there too. She is making htem food. Tiens house gets destroyed while he is training by the water fall. Bulma nad Krillin explain the situation and Tien and Chao zu agree to train at Kami's lookout.
The street cleaner is still carrying Goku when it hits a bump and he falls off of Snakeway. He lands in a place where there are no leaves on the trees. The place is a dump.
Goku smells food and goes to investigate. He comes to a tree and tries to pick a fruit off of it when a club hits him on the head, knocking him out. Piccolo ishovering by a temple meditating. The temple begins to rise up into the air. Piccolo did it. The same dinosauris still chasing Gohan. He laughs gleefully as he isbeing chased. Under Snakeway, Goku is waking up. A large blue ogre upbraids him for trying to steal King Yemma's fruit.
Then another red ogre comes and does the same thing. They tell Goku that he has fallen under Snakeway. Piccolo lifts the temple again with his mind, way up in the air this time. The other temples around him begin to crack and crumble to the ground. Now Gohan is chasing the dinosaur. Almost half of its tail is gone. A hugecrack forms in the ground from Piccolo. Gohan thinks itis an earthquake. He falls into the huge crack but issaved by his sword. Goku tries jumping back on top ofsnake way. But he just can't reach it. The two ogres decide to have a contest of rock, paper, scissors to see who gets to play with Goku. The blue one wins. The redone has to do the paper work. The ogre throws Goku into
the clouds, higher than he jumped. Goku still cannot reach the edge. The blue ogre
challenges Goku to a wrestling match, to see who isstronger. If Goku wins the ogre will show Goku how to make it back to snake way. The ogre punches and pushesGoku with all his might, but Goku is unharmed, wondering if it is his turn. He easily pushes the ogre out of the ring by creating wind by moving his hands really fast.The blue ogre's name is Gaz. Goku is standing on a hugesee-saw looking thing and Gaz is going to catapult himto the top of Snakeway. Goku still doesn't reach butcreates a large energy, the Kamehameha, to propelhimself even further. He hits the bottom of Snakeway,and falls back down. The red ogre, Raz,challenges Goku to a contest. If Goku can catch him, Raz will take Goku to a secret passageway to Snakeway again.Raz is the fastest ogre in the land. The contest starts.Raz takes off. Gaz says that no one has ever caught Raz except for King Yemma. Goku almost catches him but misses. Goku leaps over a large fountain. Raz is resting on top of a hill when Goku comes up behind him. Raz takes off again to a carnival. Raz gets on the roller coaster. He jumps off and gets on the bumper cars. Goku finds him there. Raz leaves the carnival. Goku suggests having a piece of the fruit from Yemma's tree. If you eat a piece of the fruit, the person who eats it will not be hungry for three months. Raz begins chasing Goku. Goku turns around and catches him. Raz shows Goku the passage. It is in the side of a mountain. Goku ascends a huge staircase, and comes out of Yemma's drawer on his desk, keep in mind Yemma is a giant so everything of hisis huge. Goku has to start all over again from thebeginning of Snakeway. There is only three months before
the arrival of the Saiyans.
Quite a bit of time has passed, and Goku has made it back to where he had fallen off of Snake Way. King Yemma's Fruit gave him enough energy to make incredible time! The street sweeper is shocked to see Goku jump over his vehicle at an incredible rate of speed, and accidentally drives off of Snake Way.
Meanwhile, back on Kami's Lookout, Krillin, Yamcha, Yajirobe, Tien, and Chaozu are having a small reunion as they prepare for special training under Kami. "We're not here for a Barbecue", Krillin reminds Yajirobe.
As Goku continues on his way, he comes across a castle. "This must be it!!! I've finally made it," exclaims Goku. Suddenly, the entrance of the palace turns into a snakes head and pulls him in! Sliding down a long corridor, Goku finally comes to rest with a thud on the palace's floor. A blue-skinned attendent rings a gong. "Summon Her Highness!! A visitor has dropped in!"
