Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Repent means to turn around from. It is not OK to ask Jesus into your life and continue to walk in a lifestyle of sin. You are deceived if you think otherwise. God knows that we are human and slip once in awhile, but to walk in sin on purpose is not OK. God's word directs us: Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. In Jerusalem, Peter preached: Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Once again REPENTANCE is preached. Turn away from your worldly ways and turn unto righteousness. The Modern Day Church for a large part[Not all as there are some really spirit filled churches honoring our Savior JESUS CHRIST} but as for a whole ,has become powerless because it has stopped repenting and invited the world's ways into the Church. Heavenly Father, I repent of my evil ways, forgive me and come into my life as Lord and Savior. I turn away from the ways of the world and unto You. Help me to walk all my days in Your ways and have my mind transformed by Your Holy Word. Empower me to go into the world and preach the Gospel exactly like the Apostles did, and let the signs and wonders follow me, that others shall see the goodness of God and come to repentance. In Jesus name,Amen. |
