Top Gear Hyper-Bike

Late in 1998, plucky publisher Kemco couldn't believe its luck. It had assigned Snowblind, the developer behind critically lauded Top Gear Overdrive, to make a motocross racing game. The combination of red-hot sport and the N64's superior graphics would guarantee a sure-fire hit, right?
Alas for Kemco, industry heavyweights Nintendo, Acclaim and EA Sports had already begun work on motocross racers of their own. So right now Kemco's best hope is to make the best game possible game and get it in stores before everyone else.
The early signs are promising. A beta that recently arrived at Nintendo Sports features 14 dirt and street bikes licensed from Yahama, Honda and Kawasaki and others. Currently, Top Gear Hyper-Bike (the "Top Gear" was recently added to the title) has nine lengthy courses and four modes:

World Cup 98

Sacré bleu! Cheaper than a ticket to France, and no need to put up with surly gendarmes -- that's World Cup 98. EA Sports' third FIFA Pak for the N64 has the looks, the moves and the options to dazzle casual fans and full-bore fanatics alike.
The same development team at EA Canada has worked on all FIFA games for the N64. For this go-round, they've demonstrated their You'll see TV-style pregame and postgame scenes and even hear national anthems and unique team chants growing expertise with the world's most powerful console by building in a host of enhancements. Smarter artificial intelligence makes for savvier goalies and on-the-fly play-calling. Fakes, tackles and spectacular plays have been added, including players leaping over other players to avoid collisions. A handicapping system helps level the playing field between otherwise mismatched teams.

Comfortably viewing the competition in its rear-view mirror, Midway's realistic racing simulation delivers delicious visuals and an ambitious challenge mode that thrusts you into the mind of a young driver hungry for success. With 33 blistering cars and 10 dynamic tracks, World Driver: Championship is guaranteed to get your gears turning.
Easily the most impressive aspect of this title is its eye-popping graphics and visual effects. These screen shots demonstrate the crisp look of each car, but they do little to highlight the excellent reflection mapping on the vehicles. The colorization of the cars changes as they pass in and out of shadows, and Boss has knowingly built many areas into the tracks to highlight this awesome effect.
With the N64 Expansion Pak, a Hi-Res wide-screen option will give a much more realistic driving experienceThe 10 tracks are designed to maximize artistic impact, rather than to represent actual stretches of road or existing race tracks. The courses have been designed to minimize pop-up, allowing Boss to sparingly use fog as a realistic weather effect rather than as way to hide polygon generation.
