Limp Bizkit, PJ Harvey, and Roni Size & Reprazent are among the acts heading to the land down under in January and February as part of the "Big Day Out" festival tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Rammstein, Carl Cox, and Placebo have also been confirmed for "Big Day Out," which kicks off on January 19 in Auckland, New Zealand and ends with a February 4 concert in Perth, Australia.
In addition to the international acts, Aussie faves such as The Go-Betweens, Killing Heidi, Powderfinger, and 28 Days have also signed on for the trek, with additional artists expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
The tour tends to be a favorite of U.S. and European artists because of the brief respite it provides from the dropping mercury back home, as "Big Day Out" falls in the middle of the summer season for Australia and New Zealand.
The relaxed scheduling of the "Big Day Out" shows is also a big attraction, and past artists have told MTV News that the outing has unofficially been dubbed the "Big Day Off" by those gracing the stage.
Next year's "Big Day Out" is currently scheduled to play only six concerts over a 17-day stretch, with the built in "dark" days needed in order to move the necessary stage gear and equipment from city to city across Australia's expansive geography.

Never ones to shy away from their adoring fans, the rap-rock impresarios of Limp Bizkit will descend on the Virgin Megastore in New York's Times Square next week to mark the release of their new album.
When "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water" hits stores on October 17, Limp will do the same, turning up at Virgin for an autograph session beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Fans hoping to share at least a few seconds with Limp during the signing will have to move soon. Virgin will make the album available for pre-purchase on Friday starting at 9 a.m., and the first 500 fans who buy the record will receive a laminate that earns them a spot on line for the signing.
The event is one part of what is shaping up to be a major push for Limp's third album. So far the group has cranked out two videos from "Chocolate Starfish" |
