| The Methamphetamine Anti-Proliferation Act sponsored by Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) is ,in fact a heinously draconian censorship bill which threatens the life, liberty and property of all Americans. It has already passed the Senate. .It is currently being voted on soon in the House. Under the terms of the act, anyone disseminating information regarding any illegal substance could in principle be arrested & prosecuted for up to 10 years in prison and enormous fines. Even advocacy of Medical Marijuana which has been legalized in six states by voters could come under the aegis of this bill if it becomes law. This bill is tantamount to a new Comstock law. The Comstock law (now repealed) made use, sale or public discussion of condoms illegal in the middle of a Syphilis epidemic. Books by medical authorities such as Dr. Lester Grinspoon or prominent activists like 1998 Libertarian California Gubernatorial Candidate Steve Kubby might literally be burned just as books were burned in Nazi Germany. Even websites such as the one you are now reading could be censored. We can and must stop this bill from becoming law! It would be a violation of the First Amendment and another bioethical atrocity of the pseudo-scientific "War on Drugs".
