| Police brutality in the USA is reaching epidemic proportions. Bioethical considerations make this a medical and societal emergency.The authorities are clearly unwilling to question police tactics and behavior in any but the most superficially cosmetic manner for obvious political reasons. Police brutality is made possible by the arrogance of statist policies in many arenas. Our racist immigration policy is one such area. The legacy of racism in general is another aspect of this which has clearly infected the police. The pseudo-scientific "War on Drugs" and especially the attack on legalized Medical Marijuana, is leading to police insensitivity and sociopathy toward even the rights of medical patients. Only the Libertarian Party and allied parties around the world are questioning in any relevant manner the whole issue of police brutality which statists right and left are seeking to ignore. It is time that the public at large demanded rigorous Citizen Review of police behavior and reform of the entire justice system in a humanistic, bioethical and scientific context.
