| The pseudo-scientific paradigm of the left-right political spectrum is the ultimate fraud on voters! Based on the historical precedent of European parliaments, it has become a patently oversimplistic means to label ideology with little or no rational discourse that would lead to clearcut examination of issues. In practice, the left-right con game amounts to the creation of a false choice between civil liberty and economic freedom. The Left pretends to be in favor of civil liberty while denying economic freedom and the right pretends to be for economic freedom at the expense of civil liberty. In truth, both depend on one another and only the libertarian movement accepts and combines both classes of rights. The result is that conservative and liberal parties play off the citizen in a contemptibly corrupt version of the Good Cop/Bad Cop scenario. To avoid this statist trap voters need to see the relationship between civil liberties and economic freedom. One way to do that is to take the Advocates for Self Government Libertarian Quiz below.
