Episode 1: The Phantom Menace

The Phantom Menace takes place 30 years before the Battle Of Yavin where Luke Skywalker blew up the first Death Star. Basically, it tells the story of young Anakin Skywalker and his journey to become a Jedi Knight. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn are two jedi knights that get stranded on Tatooine, a backwater desert planet. Anakin races pods to get them the parts they need, and they head to Coruscant to plead there case to the senate. Battle Droids have taken over Naboo, and their Queen is trying to get them saved. The senate will take too long, so the party returns to Naboo. On Naboo Queen Amidala gets the help of the Gungans, natives of the planet, to fight the battle droids, However, the battle is a diversion so the Jedi and a small group of guards can go to the palace and take the throne room, then control the outcome of the battle from there. They do, but the Jedi are sidetracked by a sith warrior, Darth Maul. Maul ignites a duel-lightsaber and fights Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. Maul kills Qui-Gonn, then Obi-Wan kills Maul. Anakin Skywalker blows up the droid control ship, allowing the Gungans to beat the droid army. Obi-Wan takes Anakin as his Padawan apprentice, and Naboo is saved from the evil Trade Federation.
