The new jedi hunter the vong have is called a voxyn, it hunts using the force. It was made by the shapers. It is a huge beast spitting acid and all sorts of other horrid things. To combat this, Lando makes YVH droids to kill voxyn.
Tvasong Lah and Nom Anor deliver a terrible ultimatum. Reveal the location of the Jedi base or thousands of refugees will die. Luke and Mara spearhead a mission with Borsk Fey'lya's approval to rescue the refugees at Talflagio. They win, an dhte refugees are saved. Meanwhile, Anakin Solo heads a strike team of several jedi including Alema Rarr, Jacen and Jaina, Raynar Thul, Tahiri and Lowbacca. Their mission is to kill the voxyn queen, since all others are clones of the voxyn queen. Once the voxyn queen is dead, no more voxyn can be made. On the Vong-inhabited planet Myrk, the Jedi sneak there by capturing a vong ship. They lose a few comrades, and Jaina Solo is almost killed. She's saved by Anakin, who makes a very brash move and leaps into a huge fray of vong. He saves his sister, but his spleen is ruptured by a vong amphistaff. They start to move along, but Anakin collapses. They are surrounded; vong to the north, voxyn to the south. Anakin is fading away, and Cilghal (mon calamari healer-jedi) knows he must be put into a hibernation trance or else he will die. However, Anakin is strong, stronger than he thinks. He surprises himself when he is able to keep moving. Jacen distracts the voxyn while the Jedi slip by, and they reach a transport. Anakin keeps moving. But as they near it they realize two Dark Jedi are taking off with it, not trusting the Jedi to finish the mission alive, and the DJ's get out while they can. The rest of the Jedi move one way, while Alema, Tahiri, Tesar Sebaytane and Anakin go the other. Anakin says he must continue alone, that the others must move back to the base. Alema and Tesar know they must, but Tahiri refuses. After explaining that Alema and Tahiri must take the injured Tesar to the rendezvous point, Tahiri reluctantly agrees to let anakin go alone. Anakin sprints, knowing he must reach the vong hold before the others. He is shot at, and he deflects. He becomes one with the Force, moving sub-conciously. Spinning, diving, flipping and hurdling Anakin Solo is unstoppable. He reaches the hold to see Nom Anor and a group of 60 vong or so. Fighting them off, he throws two thermal detonators. Jaina arrives at the scene and helps, but Anakin tells her to go, while she still can. Anakin takes an amphistaff to the ribs, and goes down. Before he dies, he throws another thermal detonator, killing the Vong troop, saving his friends and blowing up the hold. Nom anor barely escapes alive. Jaina is outraged, and uses dark-side lightning to recover anakin's body. Jacen is captured, but he kills the voxyn queen. Tenel Kal, Lowie, and Alema escape with Jaina and Tahiri, who brutally murdered legions of troops to fight their way back to the shuttle with anakin's body. Meanwhile, despite a fight by NR forces, Coruscant is taken by the Vong.
Anakin Solo is dead, Coruscant is stolen, several more Jedi are dead and Jacen Solo is captured. The New Republic is crushed into submission, and they have no hope of winning the war.
