This map is temporary untill i find a better one. This map doesn't show all the planets

The galaxy's diameter is 100,000 light years. There is a list of planets at the bottom of the page.

The Star Wars galaxy is a spiral galaxy that is smaller and less dense than our own Milky Way galaxy. It contains over 60 billion stars and is approximately 80,000 light-years in diameter. The galactic core is nearly 12,000 light-years thick, tapering off to about 2,000 light-years in the outer-rim. A complete rotation of the galactic spirals takes 50 million years. This means that it is spinning about four times as fast as our galaxy. The galaxy is fairly young and therefore contains more gaseous debris and other elements that have not yet formed into stars. These fill up immense areas, sometimes covering thousands of light-years of space. The age of the galaxy as well as its high rate of spin are causing it to slowly expand in size.

The galaxy is divided into four quadrants. Each quadrant is further divided into 64 sectors, each covering an area of 5000 light-years by 5000 light-years. On the fringes of the galactic rim the sectors contain as few as 50 million stars. In the core worlds, sectors contain as many as 500 million stars, while the deep galactic core sectors contain nearly one billions stars. On average, a single sector on the map contains 230 million stars.

Planetary bodies can be found around 1 in every 1200 stars. Planets capable of supporting life occur about once in every 4000 of these solar systems. This gives an average of 50 life supporting systems per sector. About one-half to two-thirds of these systems are inhabited or colonized. Sectors in the galactic core contain between 80 and 100 inhabited systems while those in the outer rim contain between 10 and 20 inhabited systems.
