Blasters from the essential guide to weapons and technology When a blaste is fired, a small amount of high-energy blaster gas moces from the gas chamber to the gas conversion enabler (cammonly called an XCiter). There the gas is excited by energy from the weapon's power source, which is a small power pack for hand wepons and a reactor or a power generator for a larger weapon. The excited gas passes into the actuating blaster module, where it is processed into a beam comprised of intese energy particles coupled with light. The prismatic crystal housing focuses the beam, which is further focused, of "galvenned," as it passes down the blaster's barrel. The final particle beam, or "bolt," contains high-energy particles that couse tremendous damage to anthing they hit: the bolt's cisble light is a harmlwss by-product of this reaction. DH-17 is designed for short-range combat, with an optimum range of 30 meters and a maximum range of 120 meters. When set on "stun" it can knock a human out for ten minutes. It gas chamber has enough for five hundred shots. And its power pack enough for one hundred. The weapon is semiautomatic, but can be modified (which is not advised). If modified for fully automatic, its power pack will fully deplete within 20 seconds and the excess heat could couse an internal meltdown which would blow the blaster up.  Bowcaster "The bowcaster is essentially a magnetic accelerator with twin polarizers hat use alternating polarity pulses to accelerate a highly tensile metal bowstring and propel an explosice quarrel at extremely high speed. The fired quearrel has the appearance of an elongated blaster bolt becauseit is wrapped in an energy envelope that channels the quarrel's explosive force into the target. The result is a weapon that's considerably less advanced than a blaster pistol yer delivers an equibalent amount of damage. Temendous strengh is needed to cck the weapon, which notches the bowstring and loads a quarrel from the ammo cartridge." Bowcaster are a traditional weapon of the wookiee. Built by the owner, this weapon is really practicle in some ways. it has a short range of 30 meters and a maximum of 50. The weapon can be taken apart and carried in a bag, it can be reassembled in less than a minute. "Wookies use bandoliers to carry power packs, canisters of blaster gas, and spare ammunition cartridges that hold six quearrels each." Sporting Blasters This weapon is marketed to the general population with a cost of only 350 credits, while many blaste pistol over 500 credit. Only a direct hit is capable of killing a human. It's optimal range is 30 meters and it's maximum 60 meters. The weapon can be deassemble into 3 parts for secret operations. Grenades There are many types of grenades, it would be hard to cover them all. They come in many different shapes, sizes, effectiveness. My personal prefrence is the light and smoke grenades. They provide a safe and harmless way out or into a sticky situation. Many Imperial soldiers carry shrapnel grenades which basiclly like a pipe bomb. More to come! |
