recipe section and a links section for kids. That

Dear Sherry,
My name is Stephanie and I am 13 years old. Please
don't use my screen name if you answer this cause I
would be so embarrassed. I think I am a nice person.
I am never mean to other people no matter what their
age is. Until a couple of years ago I had lots of
friends. I do good in school. This is my first
year in Jr. High. I don't have friends anymore. I
have a bad complexion and I am about 60 pounds
overweight. Kids make fun of me a lot. Do you
have any ideas on what I can do to change that?

You sound like a wonderful person and you share
your "problems" with a lot of other people! But
there are answers and they are pretty simple too.
First about the complexion: it's important to wash
your face and neck 3-4 times a day with warm, soapy
water and rinse
afterwards with cold water--this closes the poors.
Clearasil pads are also great. If you wear make-up
apply sparingly and always cleanse thoroughly at
night, removing everything. Equally important for a
clear skin is drinking lots of water--you should
have at least 12 glasses every day! Eating lots of
vegetables also aids in good skin. Now about the
weight--do you want to lose weight? I'm assuming
you do. Try not to make a big deal of it--make
some wise decisions then put it in the back of your
mind---thinking about it a tends to cause one to
eat more. Here is a short list that works wonders:
1. Exercise. You don't need an agonizing work-out
to stay healthy and lose weight.
2. If you enjoy
sports get enrolled in a sports team, you'll get
regular work-outs that way. Walk.
3. A brisk, 20 minute walk everyday will help
you slim down and believe it or not, will work
wonders for your outlook on life.
Like to garden? Work with flowers/plants?
This is a sure way to take off pounds and put
those curves where you want them!
Diet: eat lots of fresh fruit, vegetables,
grains--like cereals that contain no pre-sweetner,
smaller amounts of meat, and if you're going to
have potatos--try baking them--they are a complete
complex carbohydrate which is something you need.
Try eating smaller amounts with a salad or piece
of fruit between meals and a short walk after
your main meals. Stay away from diet drinks,
they do not cause weight loss and they are
poison to your system--literaly!
Most importantly: be yourself. Be the best you
can be and always do your best no matter what it
is. You will feel good about yourself and others
will be glad they know you. Good Luck!
