Pokémon Tricks That Work
I've tested these codes and they work!
The Cinnabar Island Tricks
The old man: To get any of the Cinnabar Island tricks to work you must first initiate it in the same way. First, you get to Cinnabar Island! Then you fly to Viridian City and walk a short ways North of where you land. Tell the old man "no" when he asks you if you are in a hurry and let him show you how to catch Pokémon. Now you have multiple options:
Missingno. and 'M
After talking to the old man, fly back to Cinnabar island and surf along the right coast. You will run into various Pokémon and among them will be Missingno. and 'M.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Coming in contact with Missingno. or 'M will cause problems with you game. It will ruin your Hall Of Fame and may also have other harmful effects. These damages can not be undone without starting a new game! This will occur after any contact with these glitch Pokémon! You need not catch them to be affected! Use this trick at your own risk! One more thing, sometimes when you surf up and down, you might run into a cooltrainer. I ran into a cooltraner once and his pokemon are around L30.Cooltrainer also has a Missingno. So when you fight Missingno, the item in the sixth slot will be duplicated.BEWARE:If cooltrainer sends out a Nidorino, beat it immediately! If you don't, he will use TM42 which is selfdestruct! When he does it, your game data might be corrupted.Sounds a little weird, but true!!
Item Duplication
To duplicate items, fly to Cinnabar after talking to the old man. Put the item you wish to duplicate it the 6th place in your list of items. Surf along the right coast until you run into 'M or Missingno. Rather than fighting, run away from the battle. The 6th item will now be duplicated over 100 times. On your list there will be an unrecognizable number. You may use them as is, or sell some to get a quantity number.
Pokémon over level 100
Go to Cinnabar after performing "the basics" as given above. Surf along the right coast. Eventually you will run across a Pokémon that is over level 100. Make sure you bring a few high-level Pokémon and ultraballs (or masterballs). The Pokémon that you see will vary. It will be different with each new game you start, but the same within that game. Also, beware of Missingo and 'M if you wish to perform this trick (see above).
Catch Pokémon from different areas on Cinnabar
Go to an area which contains the Pokémon you wish to catch. Then fly or surf to Cinnabar Island and surf off the right coast. You will run into the Pokémon from the place you just left. This trick will not work if you get into a trainerbattle between the location and Cinnabar Island, though wild Pokémon are alright. This trick is primarily used to catch Pokémon used in the Safari Zone, because you can use any type of Pokéball and the Pokémon will not run away. Make sure you were in the correct section of the Safari Zone to catch certain Pokémon. Thanx to PyroPaws for this code (not because I didn't know it, but because she'll kill me if I don't stick her in anyway!).
Get 100s of Aerodactyls, Omanytes, and Kabutos
Use the item duplication trick on the Old Amber, Dome fossil, and Helix fossil. Then take them to the Lab on Cinnabar Island. - Submitted by Ryan Swanhart
Editor's Note: As of now I don't know of any way to get rid of the fossils once they are duplicated.
Get Rich Quick
Use the item duplication code and duplicate the nugget. Sell the nuggets to get $100,000 (I don't know what could happen to the game if you get more). Make sure you keep one nugget. Go to the game corner and talk to the man that gives you 50 coins for $1,000. Just keep tapping that A button and soon enough you'll have enough to buy those Pokémon. Better then praying for a jackpot on the machines! - Submitted by Eddie Ramos Jr.
Get Mew
To really get Mew, you must have entered the Nintendo Power Contest awhile ago and won. You didn't win, you say? Don't feel bad. Neither did I.
Get Mew
Attend one of the Pokémon Training Tours where they give away Mew too all who participate.
Fish in A Statue
Go up to a statue in Misty's Gym. Position yourself so it's between you and the water. Then go fish!
Stand on a Bush
Get a Pokémon that knows cutand cut down a bush. Stand where the bush was and save the game. Then turn the game off and back on. You are now standing on a bush. Congratulations.
The Mysterious Invisible Computers
Go to Celadon City and go to the hotel for humans. Go to the spot where a computer would be in a Pokémon center and press A. It will operate just like the other computers....only it may be hard for Ash to see the keys. - Submitted by Carrasquillo
Get Your Diploma
After catching all 150 Pokémon go to Celadon City and go to the building were you got the Eevee. Go inside and talk to the head programmer and he will give you a diploma. Rumor has it you can go for a doctorate in Gold/Silver (j/k).
