#1 Brock
Location: Pewter City
Pokemon: Geodude- Lv.12 Onix-Lv.14
The Pokemon League is the official association of pokemon trainers. If you beat Brock, he'll induct you into the league and give you his Boulder Badge and TM 34 as rewards. The badge will give your pokemon a small power boost, while the Technical Machine (TM) can be used to teach certain Pokemon the Bide technique. Charmabder's Fire-type powers won't make a dent in Brock's two Rock-type Pokemon. If you don't have Squirtle or Bulbasaur, you'll be in for a long battle.
#2 Misty
Location: Cerulean City
Pokemon: Staryu-Lv.18 Starmie-Lv.21
Like her two lieutenants, Misty prefers Water-type Pokemon, and she has Staryu and Starmie ready to go. Bulbasaur (which will likely have evolved into Ivysaur by now) is your best bet against these water-logged foes. If you don't have Bulbasaur, any Electric- or Plant-type Pokemon will do. If you mop things up here, you'll recieve Misty's Cascade Badge as a reward. This badge will make any of your pokemon up to level 30 obey you without question. The second prize is
TM 11, which contains Bubblebeam, a powerful Water-type technique.
#3 Lt. Surge
Location: Vermillion City
Pokemon: Voltorb-Lv.21 Pikachu-Lv.18 Raichu-Lv.24
If you want to give this G.I. a jolt, put a couple of Ground-type Pokemon on your front line. You'll bust Lt. Surge back down to private in no time! If you win, you'll recieve the liutenants Thunder Badge and TM 24 as your spoils of war. If you have a Pikachu or any other Electric-type Pokemon, use TM 24 to teach it Thunderbolt.
#4 Erika
Location: Celadon City
Pokemon: Victreebel-Lv.29 Tangela-Lv.24 Vileplume-Lv.29
If you defeat Erika's three Grass-type Pokemon, you'll recieve her TM 21 and Rainbow Badge to mark your victory. As you may know, if you don't demonstrate enough skill as a trainer, higher-level Pokemon sometimes ignore your commands in battle. With the Rainbow Badge in hand, all of your Pokemon up to level 50 will always obey you.
#5 Sabrina
Location: Saffron City
Pokemon: Kadabra-Lv.38 Mr. Mime-Lv.37 Venomoth-lv.38 Alakazam-Lv.43
With their powerful mental abilities, Sabrina's Psychic-type Pokemon will likely Confuse your Pokemon into hurting themselves badly. The badge will ensure that any of your Pokemon up to level 70 will obey you during combat.
#6 Koga

Pokemon: Koffing-Lv.37 Muk-Lv.39 Koffing-Lv.37 Weezing-Lv.43
Koga is protected by a maze of "invisible" walls and a troop of ninja-trainers. The ninja master himself will send out two Koffing, a Muk and a Weezing. Ground-type or Psychic-type Pokemon can put a lid on the poisonous pollution the spew. Defeat the toxic lot of them to recieve the Soul Badge and a TM 06. The Soul Badge slightly boosts the Defense rating of all your Pokemon.
#7 Blaine
Location: Cinnabar Island
Pokemon: Growlithe-Lv.42 Ponyta-Lv.40 Rapidash-Lv.42 Arcanine-Lv.47

After his defeat in Saffron City, Giovanni returned to his old job as leader of the Viridian City Gym. Now that he's given up crime, Giovanni will gladly give you his Earth Badge- if you beat him in battle, that is! The Earth Badge will ensure that any of your Pokemon will obey you.
Elite Four:
#1 Lorelei
Location: Indigo Plateau
Pokemon: Dewgong-Lv.54 Cloyster-Lv.53 Slowbro-Lv.54 Jynx-Lv.56 Lapras-Lv.56
Your first duel in against the Elite Four will be against Lorelei, Mistress of Icy Pokemon. Fire-type, Fighting-type, and Rock-type Pokemon all have combat advantage against Ice-types. Many of her Pokemon also have Water-type characteristics, so be sure to guard against those powers, too.
#2 Bruno
Location: Indigo Plateau
Pokemon: Onix-Lv.53 Hitmonchan-Lv.55 Hitmonlee-Lv.55 Onix-Lv.56 Machamp-Lv.58
Bruno is the second of the Elite Four trainers. Fighting-type Pokemon are his specialty, but he also has two Onix to roundout his squad. If you want to go the distance, rember that Flying-type and Psychic-type Pokemon are more than a match for Fighting-type Pokemon.
#3 Agatha
Location: Indigo Plateau
Pokemon: Gengar-Lv.56 Golbat-Lv.56 Haunter-Lv.55 Arbok-Lv.58 Gengar-Lv.60
If it's a challenge you want, Agatha is ready to deliver. As you may recall, no type of Pokemon has a great advantage in battle over Ghost-types, and some special attacks won't affect them at all. Focus on water- or fire-type attacks.
#4 Lance
Location: Indigo Plateau
Pokemon: Gyarados-Lv.58 Dragonair-Lv.56 Dragonair-Lv.56 Aerodactyl-Lv.60 Dragonite-Lv.62
Lance is the leader of the Elite Four and the most powerful trainer in the Pokemon League. His Dragon-type Pokemon are vulnerable to Ice-pokemon powres. On the other hand, no Pokemon can defend well against Dragon-type attacks, so keep lots of Potion ready!
Gary
Location: Indigo Plateau
Pokemon: Pidgeot-Level.61 Alakazam-Lv.59 Rhydon-Lv.61
Gyarados-Lv.61 Arcanine-Lv.63 Venusaur-Lv.65 (Chose Bulbasaur at beginning) or Pidgeot-Level.61 Alakazam-Lv.59 Rhydon-Lv.61 Arcanine-Lv.61 Exeggcutor-Lv.63
Blastoise-Lv. 65 (Chose Squirtle at beggining) or Pidgeot-Level.61 Alakazam-Lv.59 Rhydon-Lv.61 Exeggcutor-Lv.61 Gyarados-Lv.63 Charizard-Lv.65 (Chose Charmander at beggining)
Gary defeated the Elite Four before you even set foot on Victory Road, and now you must beat him if you want to claim the title of World's Greatest Pokemon Trainer. The first half oh his team consists of Pidgeot, Alakazam, and Rhydon. The second half differs from game to game, depending on which Pokemon he chose when the game began. If your Pokemon are lv.74 or above, you should be able to defeat Gary's Pokemon in two or three attacks each, but you should still be ready to defend against his Pokemon's special attacks. |
