Brushfire
|
Well, next, we have Brushfire. This deck and Blackout are the premade decks most playable out of the box. A few but notable changes. Here's the untouched version of Brushfire:
18 Fire energy
4 Charmander
2 Charmelion
2 Growlithe
1 Arcanine
2 Vulpix
1 Ninetales
10 Grass energy
4 Nidoran M
4 Weedle
2 Tangela
1 Plus Power
3 Potion
1 Gust of Wind
1 Switch
1 Energy Removal
2 Energy Retrieval
1 Lass
Here's my "fixed" version:
11 Fire Energy
Fire Energy
4 Magmar (2 Base, 2 Fossil)
3 Ponyta
2 Rapidash
11 Grass Energy
Grass Energy
3 Nidoran (M)
2 Nidorinos
3 Scyther
3 Pinsir
4 Pluspower
3 Gust of Wind
1 Computer Search
3 Bill
2 Professor Oak
2 Energy Retrival
3 Double Colorless Energy
Ponyta, Nidoran (M), Gust of Wind, and Bill should be able to get a hold of easily since they're common, as well as Fire and Grass energy. The Nidorinos, Rapidash, Magmar, Pluspower, Professor Oak, Energy Retrival, DCE, and Computer Search shouldn't be too hard either. The Scythers and Pinsirs are a little harder, but most kids should be willing to trade for some big ol' fattie like Zapdos, Kangaskhan, etc. Don't worry about trading rares. You'll be able to get prizes by winning tournemants with the improved versions of the Preconstructed decks. If you really miss the Charizard you traded for a Computer Search, 2 Scythers, 1 Pinsir, and 3 Double Colorless Energy, just use the prize money from winning tournemants to buy another. The Scythers can be replaced temporarly with Farfetch'd and the Pinsirs temporarily with Tangelas.
Reasons:
I have both Magmars for different reasons. The Base Magmar can fork over more damage, but the Fossil Magmar has more HP and poisoning and delaying attacks. The Ponyta and Rapidash take little energy to do alot of damage, which supports the theme, and can use any energy. Rapidash also has a free retreat and can stall with Agility. The Nidoran(M) can do a fierce 30 damage with a lucky heads and fits the theme of fast damage well. The Nidorino also fits the theme great, and uses Double Colorless energies to speed up his attacks for quicker damage. The Scythers have a free retreat and resistance to fighting and can swords dance then slap down a DCE for a whooping 60 damage on turn two! The Pinsirs make good use of DCE energy as well, using their powerful Guillotine attacks. The trainers in the untouched deck were pretty scattered and dinky, so I juiced them up a bit. The Bills, Oaks, and Computer Search let you pick up speed allowing you to search for what you need. The Pluspower help with the quick damage and cause a major headache for you opponent when you KO a Pokemon in one turn instead of what would have taken two or more. The Gust of Wind is for quick kills and bench disruption while the Energy Retrivals get back that last bit of energy discarded by Magmar. The DCE add to the speed, allowing you to destroy your opponent into little bitty pieces with Pinsir, Scyther, Nidorino, Ponyta, and Rapidash, which all use them. Enjoy playing this souped up Brushfire deck! |
