| Many books of the Bible speak of the End-Times and give signs for the return of Jesus. Some of the New Testament books include: Matt. 24, Mark 13, Luke 17, Acts 2, 1 Thess. 4, 2 Tim 3, 2 Peter 3, and the book of Revelation. According to the Bible "the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night". "While people are saying, 'Peace and Safety', destruction will come on them suddenly". 1 Thess. 5:2-3 NIV This verse almost makes you think of something like the year 2000 computer crash. The Bible goes on to say say: "But you Brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you". 1 Thess. 5:4 NIV So be prepared for the Day of the Lord because just when people think things are going well, sudden desruction will come. |
Here is something to think about: In Genesis chapter 1, the Bible speaks of God creating everything in six days. According to chapter 2 "By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested". Many Christian Bible scholors have concluded that creation occured just about 4000 B.C. If this is correct then the year 2000 is the end of the sixth millenium and the begining of the seventh. This is a neat parable becase "With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day".2 Peter 3:8 NIV Remember God said on the seventh day he rested. Since a thousand years is like a day to God, could this be a sign that his day of rest will be the seventh millenium from the year 2000-3000? According to the Bible there will be a thousand years of peace after the return of Jesus and the devil is bound "He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil, or satan, and bound him for a thousand years. Rev. 20:2 NIV Could the tribulation begin in the next couple of years? Could this thousand years of peace or rest be a parable to God resting on the seventh day? Only the Father in Heaven knows. |
