| The Holy Bible is the word of God. The Bible is made up of two sections-The Old Testament and The New Testament. The Old Testament was written before the time of Jesus, about 3000-4000 years ago! The New Testament deals with the time of Jesus, about 2000 years ago! You can get many versions of the Bible, however, I recomend the NEW KING JAMES VERSION (NKJV) or the NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) or the LIVING BIBLE (LIV). | Both the New and Old Testaments of the Bible are made up of books, such as the book of JOHN. You might see someone write "John 3:16". That means they want you to go to the book of John and go to chapter 3 and verse 16. You will notice in the Bible that each line is numbered, these are the verses. The entire Bible has 66 books. The first book of the Bible is Genesis, the last book is Revelation. |
