| MORE ABOUT SPIRITED WOMEN We are caring, supportive and non-intrusive guardians of birth. We believe that pregnancy and birth are inherently safe and normal functions of a woman’s body. We affirm that women know how to give birth and babies know the way out. We also firmly believe that pregnancy and birth are sacred events in a family’s life and provide nurturing support for this unique moment in time. Sandra has been working with birth since 1997. Sandra completed her nursing studies in June 1985 but is currently not a registered nurse. Sandra has worked as a doula since 1997 and is in her final year of a three year, intensive midwifery course. She is certified in CPR and neonatal resuscitation FINDING THE RIGHT SUPPORTERS FOR YOU We strongly suggest you interview any prospective birth attendant to ensure that they would be a good fit for you and your family. If you are unsure what questions to ask, please call Spirited Women and we would be happy to help you. If you are looking for midwives in the Calgary area, please email Spirited Women and we can give you more information about your options in Calgary. WHAT IS THE COST? Spirited Women believes that every family has the right to a homebirth with caring and supportive caregivers. Our fee is $1800. This includes all prenatal visits, support throughout labour and birth and a minimum of 5 postpartum visits. WILL SPIRITED WOMEN TRAVEL? Spirited Women is willing to travel. We are willing to go as far north as Red Deer, southeast to Medicine Hat and Lethbridge, and out to the Canmore and Banff area. There is no extra charge for clients who reside out of town, however, all prenatal visits must be attended in Calgary. |
