Q-What's Speed's real name?
A-Speed's name is "Speed Racer" in America. Speed's name in Japan is "Goh Mifune". However, there was a Speed Racer comic book that came out in the 80s where his real name was "Greg".


Q-What are the funtions of the buttons on the Steering wheel of the Mach 5?
A-They are as follows-

Button A-Auto Jacks that boost the car so Sparky, Speed's mechanic can repair it. the Auto Jacks also serve as propulsion for the car to leap over obsticles.

Button B-Belt tires that deploy over it's normal tires, so it can climb steep mountains.

Button C-Deploys Rotary Saws that cut down all obticles in the Mach 5's path.

Button D-A bullet-proof Deflector sheid closes the cockpit of the Mach 5.

Button E-The Mach 5's ultra powerful Hi-Beams.

Button F-Basicaly turns the Mach 5 into a submarine. It opens an oxygen tank suppling air to Speed, while a parascope pops up above the surface and sends all it sees down to Speed on a mini television. Got all that? Good.

Button G-Deploys a radio controlled homing robot that can send written and recorded messages to where ever Speed wants to send them.


Q-What colors are the mach 5?
A-PULLEZE!! It's white, with a big red "M" on the hood. It has a yellow "5" on each side painted on a red dot that's traditionaly perfectly round. The interior is red.


Q-How many holes are in the Mach 5's rims?
A-There are suposed to be six, but most SR toys these days have 5.


Q-What colors are the homing robot?
A-The body is white, and the wings and tail are greyish blue. It has a grey beak, and a yellow ring around it's neck.


Q-When was Speed Racer made?
A-It was introduced in a manga in Japan in 1966. It was brought to America in 1967.


Q-Can I still send out for a Johnny Lightning "Mach 4"?
A-No.


Q-What's the M on the Mach 5 stand for?
A-You just answered your own question it stands for Mach 5.


Q-What's the M on Speed's helmet stand for?
A-In Japan, it stands for his last name-"Mifune". Here it stands for Mach 5.


Q-What's the G on Speed's shirt stand for?
A-In America, it stands for "Go team". In Japan it stands for "Goh". In the 80's comic book, it stands for..."Greg". Let's not talk about THAT!

A-In America, it stands for "Masked Racer". In Japan? I dunno. "Mifune" is my guess.


Q-What's the deal with all that "The Treacherous Pirate" stuff on "Speed Racer The Movie"?
A-Finally this question is answered!!! Jim Rocknowski (owner of SRE) stated "Jerry Beck from Streamline Pictures, who edited and produced the movie felt that the "Colonel Bleep" short had some sort of cult, kitzchy (sp?) appeal that is also a part of Speed's appeal."
