| A brief description of the Racer family/Go Team. |

Speed Racer  Speed Racer, the title character, is the owner of the Mach 5. He is an 18 year old boy who loves to race, and fight crime doing it. A good fighter, and an even better racer, Speed often takes home the trophy, and a few bucks for catchin' the bad guys. Trixie  Trixie is Speed's girlfriend. She tends to enjoy air travel as much as Speed or Racer X enjoy driving, and is often seen in her helicopter protecting Speed. If she's not in her helicopter, chances are she's riding in the Mach 5 with Speed. Racer X  Unknown to Speed, Racer X is Speed's older brother Rex who ran away from home. An interational secret agent, Racer X drives the "Shooting Star", and can do amazing things with an ordinary car. He always protects Speed, and has come to the rescue many times. He is also Speed's role model in life, even though Speed doesn't know he's his brother. Pops Racer  Pops Racer is Speed's father, and builder of the Mach 5. He is a former pro wrestler, and currently owns an auto garage and factory that he runs with his mechanic, Sparky. He still helps his son Speed when he gets the chance, and still seems to have what it takes to kick some serious butt. Spridle and Chim Chim  Spridle is Speed's 7 year old brother (who turns 8 in "The Royal Racer"). He and his pet monkey Chim Chim often surprize Speed's Enemies by sneaking up and hitting them with pebbles or stones. They hide in the trunk of the Mach 5 when Speed's racing, and often fight among themselfs over candy or food, providing comic relief. Sparky  Sparky is the mechanic for the Go Team, and knows the Mach 5 (and any other car) inside and out. He is also Speed's best friend. He works in Pops' garage, even though he's barely old enough to drive. Mom Racer  Mom Racer is often compared to June Cleaver, in the sense that she's sort of the stereotypical stay at home, cookie baking mother. She's a good housewife and mother, and cares a lot about her 3 children. |
