| How to beat the master! |
Defeat the Master of the Fighting Dojo
Having trouble with the leader of the Fighting Dojo in Toad Town? Don't want to use a lot of your good items but want to get the top card early? Then read below.
First, before you get to The Master, you have to face Chan and Lee. They pose no problem at all.
Chan:
HP: 15
Attack Power: 2
Defense 2:
This is one of the easiest bosses in the game. Just jump on him to flip him over and attack with your partner. Easy Victory.
Lee:
HP: 20
Attack Power: N/A
Defense: N/A
This opponent transforms into your ally. Usually he transforms into Goombario, which makes him easy. He will use tattle, which just wastes a turn. Use a few powerful timed attacks and this battle is over.
The Master (1st Battle):
HP: 50
Attack Power: 6
Defense Power: 0
For this battle, having Bow in the Super Rank makes this battle easy. Also, equip the Zap Tap badge. You can purchase this badge at Shooting Star Summit for 12 star pieces. You may want to equip a hammer attack badge to increase your attack. This battle isn't too hard if your levels are high. Keep using slap with Bow and a special hammer move with Mario. You may want to use a recovery item if your HP gets low.
The Master (2nd Battle):
HP: 75
Attack Power: 8
Defense Power: 1
For this battle, have Parakarry upgraded to the Super Rank. You may want to get a few Wacka's Bumps from Mount Rugged. (You can get them by going to the second screen of Mount Rugged and hitting the Wacka with the hammer.) At this point is crucial that you have the Zap Tap badge, for it saves you A LOT of damage. The Master will usually use a combo move that hurts 6 then 5. If you have the Zap Tap badge equipped, his combo will stop and he will only hurt you 6! This badge is basically the key to victory. Have Parakarry use shell shot and Mario use Powerful hammer attacks. Use a Wacka's Bump if you are low on HP or FP.
The Master (Final Battle):
HP: 99
Attack Power: 11(?)
Defense Power: 1
If you are not advanced far in the game, this battle is tough. I beat The Master in his final form before I completed the third chapter. You will need Parakarry (ultra level would be nice) for this battle, the Zap Tap badge, a badge for a powerful, single attack hammer move, and anything else you might find useful, such as the Plus Power badge, the HP Plus, or the FP Plus badges. Depending on your level, you may need a few Wacka's Bumps, and if you are far enough, a Jelly Ultra. Again, the Zap Tap badge will stop The Master's combo attacks, saving you from a lot of damage. Use Parakarry's shell shot and your strongest hammer attacks. When your FP and HP gets low, use a powerful recovery item such as a Wacka's Bump. Use these now, because there will not be many tougher battles in the game. The Master's HP will be drained slowly from your repeated attacks and the Zap Tap badge. The key to victory is just staying alive by outlasting The Master.
