Basic Lard Recipe
Very easy! Makes a hard bar, with good lather.
16 oz. lard
6 oz. distilled water
2.11 oz. lye
Mix lye into water, cool to room temperature. Melt lard, and cool to 85 degrees. Slowly pour lye/water into fat, alternate hand stirring and stick blender. Pour into prepared mold, and cover for 24 hours. Remove from mold, cut into bars, and cure for 4 weeks.
Basic Three-Oil Soap
Wonderful soap, creamy, moisturizing and lathers well!
8 oz. Olive oil
4 oz. Coconut oil
4 oz. Palm oil
6 oz. water
2.27 oz. lye
Temps: 100-115 degrees
Mold time: 18-24 hours

Note: Olive oil takes longer to trace.
Easy Goat's Milk Soap
So creamy, it's like washing with a lotion bar! This is a somewhat softer bar.
32 oz. Olive oil
16 oz. Coconut oil
16 oz. Palm oil
12 oz. water
12 oz. condensed (canned) Goat's milk
9.07 oz. lye
Dissolve lye in water and cool to 100-115 degrees. Heat oils to 100-115 degrees. Mix, and stir to light trace. Slowly add goats milk and bring to heavy trace.
Mold time: 24-48 hours
Cure time 4-8 weeks
Peppermint Herbal Tea Soap
14 oz. Palm Oil
14 oz. Coconut Oil
20 oz. Olive Oil
18 oz. Peppermint Herbal Tea (Prepared just as for drinking)
6.91 oz. lye
Peppermint EO
Dissolve lye in tea,and cool to room temp. Heat oils and cool to 110-120 degrees. Mix to light trace. Add contents of two tea bags, and eo. Stir to full trace. Pour into molds. Remove after 24 hours, and cut into bars.
Basic Tallow Soap
24 oz. tallow
7 oz. coconut oil
12 oz. water
4.5 oz. lye
Temps:
Fats: 120-140
Lye: 80-90
Mold time: 18 hours. |
