 Link comes from the land of Hyrule to battle in the Smash Brothers tournament. Armed with his sword and shield as his chief weapons, and his bombs, boomerang, and hookshot, Link is ready to take on anyone. Here are Links moves: A-Button Moves: A-Sword Swipe. This basic attack does around 4% damage, and works well with the roll technique. Go to Z-Button moves for more on the roll. Up +A-Link will swing his sword overhead and bring it down on the opponent for between 8-9% damage. A + Forward-This attack causes Link to bring his sword over his shoulder, then hit the oppenent with it. This attack does between 14-17% damage. Jump + Forward + A-Link will either kick twice, or swing his sword twice depening on the direction that you swing. Each hit to the oppenent does roughly 9% damage. B-Button Moves: B-Boomerang. The Boomerang is a very useful weapon Link has. It can hit an oppenent head-on for between 7 and 9% damage, and if it misses, it can hit them on the way back. If you throw it, the Boomerang will follow you, so you can move around and you can direct where the Boomerang will go. This helps in the first bonus level when you are trying to destroy the targets. Up + B-Spin Attack. Link will swing his sword around him in a circle cutting the air around him. Doing between 12-16% damage, this attack is very useful. You can use this while falling to get back up on the ground. Down + B-Bomb. This bomb is not one of Link's best moves, all it really does is put a little barrier between you and your oppenent, because it only does 3-5% damage. The "barrier" is also easily overcome with a jump. Use the bomb when you have a few extra seconds unattacked, so you have time to take it out and throw it. Z-Button moves: Shield. Hold Z and a blue will come up and protect you. Tap left or right while holding Z to roll past your oppenent. Do this a couple times to confuse them, then either hit them a few times with your sword or grab them with the hookshot and fling them away. R-Button moves: Hookshot. The Hookshot is another one of Link's weapons that he carries along with him, that you can use to grab your oppenent, and toss them into the air. Instead of hitting R, you can hold Z, and then hit A, so if you are hiding in your bubble, you can come out with a quick Hookshot attack to get your oppenent off your back. Once they are grabbed you can fling them behind you or in front of you, just tap the direction you want them to go. This attack does between 11 and 14% damage, and is a really good finisher, because you also get points in one player for a throw down finish. Strategy for Link: When being Link, it's a good idea get in close to your oppenent so you can use your sword and Spin Attacks, and your Hookshot. When the fight starts, I suggest you toss your boomerang, and then leap in the fight. If your enemy jumps your boomerang, try to catch them in the air with either you Spin Attack, or Up and A. Use your Z-Dodge moves to keep him on his toes, and then use you sword and try to knock them away with the Spin Attack. When you have a couple extra seconds unattacked, pull out a bomb and try to hit your enemy with it. |
