| Bob-omb's Battlefield- Located in Bob-omb painting in unmarked star door on 1st floor. 1. Big Bob-omb on the Summit- Go to the very top of the big mountain and you'll meet the Big Bob-omb King. When he starts walking, get behind him and pick him up with B, and then throw him onto the ground. Repeat 3 times for the star! 2. Footrace with Koopa the Quick- Go talk to the giant Koopa Troopa near the starting point and you guys have to race to the top of the mountain. The best shortcuts to take are long jumps and using the warp in the first hole where the cannon balls come out. 3. Shoot to the Island in the Sky- Go to the cannon that is in the rock near the small Koopa Troopa. Aim the cannon almost straight up, but not quite, towards the island. Once there, hit the yellow ! box for the star. 4. Find the 8 Red Coins- 1. On top of the rotating checkered platforms near the Giant Chain Chomp. 2. On top of the green rock under the island in the sky. 3. On top of the tree on the island in the sky. 4. On the stump that's holding the Giant Chain Chomp. 5+6. Near where the blue star shadow is. 7. Under the bridge leading to the foot of the mountain next to a 1-up, ! switch, and Bob-omb. 8. On the slope at the far left of the mountain as soon as you cross the bridge. The star appears in the middle of the four stumps near the area of the falling water bombs. 5. Mario wings to the Sky- Go to the island in the sky and get the wing cap, then shoot yourself using the cannon into the centers of the five rings of coins. It may take several tries, but you'll make it. You can also do it without putting on the wing cap but it's more difficult. 6. Behind Chain Chomp's Gate- While dodging the Giant Chain Chomp's attacks, butt stomp on the stump that's holding its chain 3 times. 7. Collect 100 coins- (This is always the 7th star on every one of the 15 courses, so I don't need to mention it, again.)  Whomp's Fortress- Located in star door marked 1 on first floor. 1. Chip off Whomp's Block- Just climb all the way to the very top of the fortress and you'll meet Whomp. The best thing to do is to stand an inch in front of him and then when he jumps on you, run under him and when he's flat on his face, do an instant backflip and butt stomp onto his back. Do this 2 more times for the Star. 2. To the top of the Fortress- This is really self-explanatory. There's nothing special that you have to do; the star is waiting for you at the very top. 3. Shoot into the Wild Blue- Turn left a little past the starting point and get your Bob-omb Buddy to open up the cannon for you. Hop in and aim towards the brick structure protruding from the right wall. Shoot in the middle so that you'll fly and hit your head on the brick column at the back. Climb down the pole and there's the star! 4. Red Coins on the Floating Isle- 1. On top of the 2nd moving wall. 2. Do a triple jump on the slanted wall right under the rotating bridge. 3. Above the 2nd Thwomp. 4. Behind the sleeping Piranha Plant just beyond the Thwomps. 5. Sitting on the very thin ledge between the Piranha Plants. 6. Let the rotating bridge take you around to the left and it's floating there. 7,8. To get to the floating islands in the sky, go to the top of the fortress at the foot of the tower. Walk around and you'll see a very tall wooden plank. Punch it a few times and it wobbles. Then jump kick at it and it should fall forward to make a bridge. #7 is on the brick platform, and #8 is on the last rotating platform. The star should appear at the very bottom near the 1st sleeping Piranha Plant. 5. Fall onto the Caged Island- Climb the tree at the point and then jump off. An owl should appear and offer you a ride. Jump and hold on to him as he takes you high into the sky. When Mario's shadow is right over the cage with the star in it, let go. 6. Blast Away the Wall- Go to the cannon and shoot yourself to the corner of the wall on the far right next to the rotating platform. The corner should break off, revealing the star. Go up there and get it. Jolly Roger Bay- Located in star door marked 3 on the right wall of the 1st floor. 1. Plunder in the Sunken Ship- Swim all the way to the bottom of the lake and you'll find a sunken ship. Get close to the eel's head and then swim to the surface. Swim back down and the eel should be out of the way. Go into the ship and you'll see 4 treasure chests below you. Swim to the very 1st one in front of you and open it by touching it. Then turn right and swim that way until you come in front of another one facing you. Open that one, and swim right again to open the next one. Then swim right one last time to get the last one. The water level goes down and you have to climb all the way to the other end of the ship for the star box. It gets frustrating, so to make things easier, as soon as you open the last treasure chest, turn around and swim all the way to the star box as the water level lowers. 2. Can the Eel come out and Play?- Swim to the place where the sunken ship was, and the eel should be hiding in a hole in the side of the wall. Swim near him, but not too near, so that he comes out. Try to get the star at the very end of his tail. 3. Treasure of the Ocean Cave- Swim to the same area as before, and you'll see an underwater tunnel. Swim through there and go into the cave. Dodge all of the falling pillars and go to the group of treasure chests at the end. 1st, open the one in the corner of the cave wall, and then open the one to your left. Then go to the chest to the right of the 1st one, and then the last one is at the corner of the edge. 4. Red Coins on the Ship Afloat- 1. Inside the clam on the left side of the shallow end. 2. Inside the clam right next to the 3 pillars. 3. Inside the clam at the very bottom of the lake. 4. Inside the clam next to the floating wood plank. 5. On top of the pillar near the Pink Bob-omb. 6. Floating near the moving poison box on the ship. 7+8. Floating at the other end of the ship. The star appears between coins #7+8. 5. Blast to the Stone Pillar- Jump into the cannon and aim it so it's centered on the 1st pole to the left and the arrow that's pointing up is just a few inches above the very tip of it. When you cling to the pole, jump towards the platform in front of you and then hit the yellow box for the star. 6. Through the Jet Stream- 1st, get the Metal Cap on the platform where the ! switch is, and then jump into the lake. Walk around the bottom to the area where the bubbles are blowing out and jump for the star. Cool, Cool Mountain- Located in middle painting in star door marked 3 on left side of 1st floor. 1. Slip Slidin' Away- Jump into the chimney of the small cabin and go right. Just slide down the slide, without falling off all the way to the end and the star waits for you outside! 2. Li'l Penguin Lost- There is a penguin that's wandering around near the chimney. It has lost its mother. Just pick it up by pressing B and it will whine. Ignore the whines and take it to the very bottom of the mountain and give it back to the mother penguin. 3. Big Penguin Race- Once again, go to the slide, and this time, a giant penguin wants to race you. When you're sliding, try to stay ahead of the penguin or you might get pushed off the slide. You can't cheat in this race so no shortcuts! 4. Frosty Slide for 8 Red Coins- 1. On top of tree near 1st cabin 2. Just jump off the cliff with the sign about the "Cold, Cold Crevasse." The coin is just behind the ice pillar. 3. Beyond the Snowman Head opposite the direction of the Jumping Snowmen. 4. At the top of the ski lift. 5. At the very edge of the broken bridge beyond the jumping snowmen. 6. On the ice island between the L-shaped bridges near the Mother Penguin 7. Behind the mountain wall at the very edge beyond the 6th coin. 8. On top of tree near the bottom cabin. Big Boo's Haunt- After you get 12 Power Stars, when you go into the long hallway on the 1st floor, Big Boo will be guarding the door to the courtyard. Just run towards him and he'll fly outside. Go out there and there will be ghosts everywhere. Kill Big Boo and the entrance to the haunted mansion will be revealed. 1. Go on a Ghost Hunt- Go inside the mansion and kill all the ghosts. Here are the locations of each one: 1. In the first room on the right. 2. In the 2nd door to the right. The room with the collapsing bridge. 3. In the room with the eyeball 3 doors from the left. 4+5. In the room with the flying chairs. You should turn your back on the secret Boo painting and the ghosts should come through it. After you defeat the ghosts, Big Boo will be waiting for you in the main entryway. Hit him 3 times and stairs will appear for you to get the star. 2. Ride Big Boo's Merry-Go-Round- Go down into the basement until you find the merry-go-round. Avoid the shooting flame and kill the Boos that come out of the painting. Then Big Boo will come out and just hit him 3 times for the Star. 3. Secret of the Haunted Books- Go upstairs into the 2nd door to the right with the bookshelves. At the very end of the library, 3 books pop out of the shelf. Hit the middle one 1st, then the one on the right, and finally, the left one. The bookshelf should move, revealing a door. Go into it and the star is there. 4. Seek the 8 Red Coins- 1. In the first room on the right. 2+3. On top of the bookshelves in the room with the flying chairs. 4. Behind the grand piano. 5. Close to the wall in the room with the red grating floor with holes. 6+7. Under the coffins in the upstairs room. 8. Close to the wall near the trapdoor in the room that leads to the attic. The star appears near the window upstairs on the left side. 5. Big Boo's Balcony- Go all the way up to the room with the 2 books that fly out of the single shelf and stand on the raised wooden floor. Run towards the wall and do a double jump, then wall jump towards the other side. You should land at the edge of the floor near the roof. Go through that door and into the attic and then out the double doors. Once outside on the balcony, hit Big Boo 3 times and the star will be revealed. To get up there, long jump towards the gable on the right, and run up to the flat surface. Change your camera view to Mario cam and jump up to the higher part. Walk on the thin ledge towards the center and when you get there, go down to the center gable for the star. 6. Eye to Eye in the Secret Room- 1st, go upstairs and get the vanish cap on the walkway on top of the front door. Then go up to the attic (you're going to have to be quick doing this) and run through the Boo painting into the room with the Little Boo and Mr. I. Run around the eyeball until it dies and the star will appear. Hazy Maze Cave- Located in the liquid metal pool in the unmarked star door in the basement. 1. Swimming Beast in the Cavern- Follow the signs and maps until you reach the underground lake. Once in the water, you'll see a lagoon monster. Stand on its back, and ground pound it. It will lower its head so you can stand on it. Use small taps on the control stick to steer it towards the center island. Jump on the island and get the star! 2. Elevate for 8 Red Coins- Make a right at the beginning and slide down the pole to the work elevator area. Find the sign that says "Above: Automatic Elevator..." and make a right from that sign. You'll be surrounded by 3 walls. Wall jump back and forth, so you land onto the platform with a pole. Climb up the pole and jump onto the platform on top of the previous one you were on. Step onto the checkered platform and just enjoy the ride, avoiding the bat and jumping over obstacles. Here are the coins' locations: 1. Just a little past the breakable box while riding the automatic elevator. 2. On the 1st thin platform just past the 1st coin. 3+4. Step onto the platform on the right and get the 2 coins. After this, just jump off the ledge of that platform and land onto another elevator with directional arrows. Steer it around the room to get the last 4 coins. 5. Use the elevator to steer over to the center of the room. The coin is inside the breakable yellow box. 6. If you are facing the wall with the entrance to the hazy maze, the box with the red coin inside should be behind you, it's located near one of the corner pillars. 7. Steer outside of the barricades that line the center in a large square shape and you should find another box with a coin inside. 8. This coin is on top of the pillar to the right of the hazy maze exit. 3. Metal-Head Mario can Move!- Go down to the underground lake, and once you step off the elevator, get the metal cap in the green box near the elevator. Just follow the brown trail in the ground and keep following it even if you're underwater. It leads to a ! button, so step on it, and the bars should move away from the door on the platform. Go into the door and pull off a couple of long jumps to reach the star. 4. Navigating the Toxic Maze- Go into the hazy maze entrance and take a look at the map. Remember the location of the blue circle at the very top of the map and try to get to that spot in the maze. If you're not good at reading maps, don't worry, here's an alternative explanation: Once in hazy maze, make your way to the 1st Snifit. Just go straight from where it is and make a right when you reach the Metal Cap box. Once the haze goes over your head, make a left. When you reach the raised part of the ground where the mole is, you'll see a door up on a hole in a wall. This isn't where you're supposed to go now, but remember that door's location for later. Make a right past the mole and past the Snifit until you see what looks like green moss hanging down on the wall. Double jump at that spot and you should be on another hole in the wall with a door. Go into the door and immediately turn right. Run past the obstacles and ride the elevator up to the star. 5. A-Maze-Ing Emergency Exit-Remember that I said to remember that one door's location? Well, you're going to need to find your way back to that door in the maze, this time. Once there, go through the door and you'll be above the black hole area. Go over the red barred wall and double jump and hold the A button. You should cling to the bars above. Make a right and follow the coin trail and the bars to the star platform. 6. Watch for Rolling Rocks- Go to that place where the rolling rocks are (you should know where they are located by now!) and go all the way to the end of it where the door is that leads to the elevator for the underground lake. Don't go through the door. Wall jump in between the walls and maneuver yourself onto the platform on the right side of the wall. The star should be there. Lethal Lava Land- Located in the basement in the fire painting. 1. Boil the Big Bully- You're going to have to go all the way across the lava and onto the island where the Giant Bully is walking around. Hit him so that he falls off into the lava, and some steps will appear for you to reach the star. 2. Bully the Bullies- This time you have to go to the island way at the other end of the lava with the 3 bullies walking around, push them all into the lava, and the Big Bully will show up for a comeback. Just push him off the same way as before and you've got the star! 3. 8-Coin Puzzle with 15 Pieces- This is really simple because all 8 coins are on the same platform. Find the moving puzzle with Bowser's face on it and just collect all the red coins, but don't fall into the lava! The star appears on the platform in the corner. 4. Red-Hot Log Rolling- 1st, go to the other platform with the 3 bullies on it, (not the one where you get the star at, but the one closer to the starting point) and then ride the grated platform while avoiding the fire shooting out of the lava, and jump onto the next platform up to the log. If you don't know how to ride it, do it like this. Run in the opposite direction that you want to go and the log will roll towards where you want to go. Once you're on the other side, run down the ramp and get the star! 5. Hot-Foot-it into the Volcano- Go towards the center of the course and jump into the volcano. Your objective here is to climb all the way to the top while avoiding the bullies, fire, and jumping from pole to pole near the top. 6. Elevator Tour in the Volcano- Go back into the volcano, and at the starting point, turn around and head the other direction. Ride on the checkered platform and jump onto the platform with the spinning flame, and then make your way to the very top for the star. Next Page |
